Miss Universe Dominicana 2001 was held on April 9, 2001. There were 26 candidates, representing provinces and municipalities, who entered. San Juan () is a province of the Dominican Republic. Before 1961 it was known as ''Benefactor''. San Juan is the Republic's largest province, bearing a size of 3,569 square kilometers (1,378 miles), and it is landlocked. Sosúa is a beach town in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic approximately from the Gregorio Luperón International Airport in San Felipe de Puerto Plata. La Altagracia Province
La Altagracia () is a province located in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. It is the only region that borders the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is divided into two municipalities and its capital is the beach city of Punta Cana. The province was part of the old La Altagracia Province, which split into two, La Altagracia Province and La Romana Province, on February 27, 1961. Santa Cruz De El Seibo
Santa Cruz del Seibo or El Seibo, is a city and municipality in the El Seibo Province of the Dominican Republic, located in the eastern part of the country. History El Seibo is one of the oldest towns in the country, it was created by the Constitution of November 6, 1844 although it already existed as a territorial division since colonial times, for this reason its foundation dates back to 1502 by the Spanish conqueror Juan de Esquivel.
