Million Model Catwalk
{{Use British English, date=February 2015 Million Model Catwalk is a campaign website for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer UK. The website was launched on 7 April 2009 by Breakthrough Breast Cancer and forms part of the charity's annual promotional activities within the UK. The website offers women the opportunity to interact with the brand by creating an online avatar version of themselves which involves uploading their photo, choosing an outfit from the 2009 Fashion Targets Breast Cancer range and then taking part in a virtual catwalk debut alongside nine celebrities who are supporting the campaign: Leah Wood, Sarah, Duchess of York, Jade Jagger, Bryan Ferry, Abigail Clancy, Sara Cox, June Sarpong, Duncan James and Mark Foster (swimmer). Fashion Targets Breast Cancer
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is a charity campaign originally launched in the UK in 1996 by Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and now operated under the charity's new name Breast Cancer Now. Corporate partners for the campaign represent famous high-street brands, including M & S, Topshop, and River Island. M & S has sold a wide range of charitable women's clothes for Breast Cancer Now for many years. The campaign is best known for its famous 'target' logo T-shirt designed by Ralph Lauren. Since 1996, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has raised over £14 million to fund pioneering breast cancer research. Breakthrough Breast Cancer
Breakthrough Breast Cancer was a United Kingdom charity whose mission was to "save lives through improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer". In 2015, Breakthrough Breast Cancer merged with another UK charity, Breast Cancer Campaign, to form the UK's largest breast cancer research charity - Breast Cancer Now. In 2019, Breast Cancer Care merged with Breast Cancer Now and the two organizations together became known as Breast Cancer Now. History Breakthrough Breast Cancer was envisioned by Bill Freedman and his children. Freedman's wife, actress Toby Robins (1931–1986), died from breast cancer in 1986. With Barry Gusterson of the Institute of Cancer Research, Freedman concluded that a new approach was needed to tackle that disease. Bryan Ferry
Bryan Ferry CBE (born 26 September 1945) is an English singer and songwriter. His voice has been described as an "elegant, seductive croon". Duncan James (born Duncan Inglis, 7 April 1978) is an English singer and actor. Mark Foster (swimmer)
Mark Andrew Foster (born 12 May 1970) is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics and world championships, and swam for England in the Commonwealth Games. Foster is a former world champion and won multiple medals in international competition during his long career. He competed primarily in butterfly and freestyle at 50 metres. Foster is a specialist short-course (25 metre pool) swimmer. In terms of medals and longevity (1986–2008), he is amongst the most successful British swimmers of all time. He was the fastest swimmer in the country by age 15. He made a comeback at the national championships in July 2007 winning both events he competed in after barely training.
