The oyalSwedish Armed Forces Staff College (, MHS) was from 1961 to 1996 the Swedish Armed Forces highest institution for officers training, for staff and senior executive education and was located in Stockholm. In 1997 it was merged with the Swedish National Defence College and formed the "new" Swedish National Defence College. History During the first part of the 20th century, the higher officer education was developed in the three military branches, the Army, Navy and Air Force. During the two world wars a variety of new weapons such as armor, air, gas, submarines and nuclear weapons were introduced. Svea Artillery Regiment
The Svea Artillery Regiment (), designation A 1, was a Swedish Army artillery regiment that traced its origins back to the 17th century. It was disbanded in 1997. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from Svealand, and it was also garrisoned there. History The regiment has its origins in the Artillery Regiment (1636), Artillery Regiment raised in 1636. That regiment was split into four new regiments in 1794 of which Svea Artillery Regiment was one. The regiment was given the designation A 1 (1st Artillery Regiment) in 1830. In 1889 three company (military unit), companies garrisoned in Vaxholm became independent and formed Vaxholm Artillery Corps. In 1893 another four companies were split off to form Norrland Artillery Regiment and Uppland Artillery Regiment, 2nd Svea Artillery Regiment. Rear Admiral Claes Egmont Tornberg (born 10 February 1936) is a retired Swedish Navy officer. He served as Commander-in-Chief of the Coastal Fleet from 1985 and 1990 and as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1990 to 1996 and the newly created Swedish National Defence College from 1997 to 1998. Evert Båge
Major General Evert Karl Erik Båge (25 August 1925 – 21 January 2021) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Båge served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1980 to 1984 and as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1984 to 1990. Early life Båge was born on 25 August 1925 in Alingsås Parish, Älvsborg County, Sweden, the son of Erik Båge, a repairer, and his wife Selma. Båge passed ''studentexamen'' in 1945. Career Båge graduated from the Swedish Air Force Flying School in 1948 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in Svea Wing. Båge served there from 1948 to 1958 and he was promoted to lieutenant in 1950.
