Military Road–Crosstown Line
The Military Road–Crosstown Line, designated Route E4, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between the Friendship Heights station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Fort Totten station of the Red and Green Lines of the Washington Metro or Riggs Park (Eastern Ave & Jamaica St NE). The line ran every 20 minutes between 7AM and 9PM and 30 minutes after 9PM with every other trip alternating between Friendship Heights and Fort Totten/Riggs Park. Trips took roughly 40 minutes. Additional daily trips were shortened to Fort Totten station which took roughly 30 minutes. Background Route E4 operated daily between Friendship Heights station and Riggs Park with additional trips terminating at Fort Totten station daily. This line mainly connected Northwest and Northeast by bus without having to ride the train and provided service along McKinley Street NW, Military Road NW, and Kennedy Street NW. Wisconsin Avenue Line
The Wisconsin Avenue Line, designated as Routes 31 or 33, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Its main purpose is to provide service to the upper Northwest side via Wisconsin Avenue NW. Routes 31 and 33 operate between the Friendship Heights station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Potomac Park (31) or Washington Union Station (33), running every 10 to 12 minutes between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays. In addition, Route 33 operates on weekends every 10 minutes during the day and 15 - 20 minutes after 9 p.m. daily. 14th Street Limited Line
The 14th Street Limited Line, designated Route 59, is a limited stop peak hour-only MetroExtra bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Takoma station which is served by the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Federal Triangle station which is served by the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro. The line operates every 15 minutes during rush hours and trips are roughly 50 minutes. This line provides additional service during peak hours along the 14th Street corridor supplementing routes 52 and 54. Background Route 59 provides limited stop service along the 14th Street corridor supplementing routes 52 and 54. The 16th Street Limited Line, designated Route S9, is a limited stop MetroExtra bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Silver Spring station, which is served by the Red Line of the Washington Metro, and McPherson Square station, which is served by the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro. The Connecticut Avenue Line, designated Route L2, is a daily bus route in Northwest Washington, D.C., United States. The L2 operates seven days a week.
