Miki Liukkonen
Miki Liukkonen (8 July 1989 – 4 July 2023) was a Finnish writer, poet and musician. He wrote five novels, the last of which, ''Vierastila'', was released posthumously in September 2023 and nominated for a Finlandia Prize. Liukkonen had previously received one nomination for his 2017 novel ''O.'' Liukkonen played guitar in an alternative rock band ''The Scenes'', and hosted a television talk show ''Miki Liukkonen, sivullinen''. Personal life and death Liukkonen was born in Oulu, but later moved to Helsinki. He openly discussed his addiction to alcohol, which led to him becoming a teetotaller in 2020. Liukkonen was in a relationship with singer and songwriter Behm from 2022 until the spring of 2023. Liukkonen died by suicide on 4 July 2023, at the age of 33. Provinssirock 20130615 - The Scenes - 16
Provinssirock is one of the biggest rock festivals in Finland. It takes place in the city of Seinäjoki in Southern Ostrobothnia, Western Finland. The two- or three-day festival, which starts the busy Finnish rock festival season, has been held every June since 1979. The 2007 festival had a combined three-day total crowd of 55,000. In 2008 Provinssirock was organised on 13-15 June, and was sold out with a combined three-day total of 75,000 attendees watching bands and rock artists such as Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Nightwish, The Sounds, Billy Talent and Serj Tankian. Finlandia Prize
The Finlandia Prize ( fi, Finlandia-palkinto; sv, Finlandiaprisen) is a set of Finnish literary prizes awarded by the Finnish Book Foundation to "celebrate reading and highlight new Finnish first-rate literature." Considered the most prestigious in the nation, they are awarded annually in three categories: fiction, non-fiction and children's and youth literature. The prize was first awarded in 1984. The award sum (as of 2022) is 30,000 euros (originally 100,000 Finnish Marks). Works submitted for nomination may be in Finnish or Swedish and also works in other languages may be considered. Behm (singer)
Rita Marketta Behm (born 26 October 1994) is a Finnish singer and songwriter. She uses her surname as her stage name. Behm rose to popularity in 2019 when Warner Music Finland released her hit single ''Hei rakas'', a number 1 hit in Finland for 10 consecutive weeks. Career In 2016, Rita Behm, originally from Hollola, participated in a music camp organized by the Finnish rock band Apulanta. Her intention was to further her career as a songwriter.
