French Frigate Mignonne (1767)
The French frigate ''Mignonne'' was a one-off design by Jean-Baptiste Doumet-Revest; she was launched in 1767 at Toulon. Some notable French captains commanded her before the British captured her at Calvi in 1794 and took her into the Royal Navy as HMS ''Mignonne''. She was burnt in 1797 as useless. French service On 2 April 1771, Commander Chabert was given command of ''Mignonne'', and conducted a cruise to test a chronometer made by Ferdinand Berthoud. Upon his return, in late November, Chabert was promoted to Captain. In 1772 ''Mignonne'' came under the command of Suffren, who had just been promoted to the rank of captain. He commanded her and later ''Alcemene'' in the squadron that the French government had established for the purpose of training its officers. In 1793 the French Navy had ''Mignonne'' razeed, converting her to a corvette. On 22 October 1793 ''Mignonne'' was part of a five-vessel squadron under the command of Jean-Baptiste Perrée. Taeko Onuki
is a Japanese singer and songwriter. She is influential in the city pop genre. Early life and career Taeko Onuki was born in Suginami Ward, Tokyo, in 1953. Her father was Kenichiro Onuki, a member of the Japanese Special Attack Units during the Second World War. In 1973, she formed ''Sugar Babe'' with musicians Tatsuro Yamashita and Kunio Muramatsu. Because the dominant music style at the time was hard rock, audiences did not respond too warmly, and the group ended up splitting only three years later. In 1976, Onuki began her solo career by releasing the album ''Grey Skies,'' which carried the same sound as Sugar Babe. Her second, landmark album ''Sunshower'' was released the following year in 1977 and had a much different style, mixing pop music and jazz. In 1978 she released her third album, ''Mignonne'', in which she worked with producer Eji Ogura, but the sales-focused process was difficult for her and the album didn't sell as expected. She took a two year break from mu ...

Cécile Chaminade
Cécile Louise Stéphanie Chaminade (8 August 1857 – 13 April 1944) was a French composer and pianist. In 1913, she was awarded the Légion d'Honneur, a first for a female composer. Ambroise Thomas said, "This is not a woman who composes, but a composer who is a woman." Biography Born in Paris, Chaminade was raised in a musical family. She received her first piano lessons from her mother. Around age 10, Chaminade was assessed by Félix Le Couppey of the Conservatoire de Paris, who recommended that she study music at the Conservatoire. Her father forbade it because he believed it was improper for a girl of Chaminade's class. Her father did, however, allow Chaminade to study privately with teachers from the Conservatoire: piano with Le Couppey, violin with Marie Gabriel Augustin Savard and Martin Pierre Marsick, and music composition with Benjamin Godard. Chaminade experimented in composition as a young child, composing pieces for her cats, dogs and dolls. In 1869, she perform ...

Cuties
''Cuties'' (french: Mignonnes) is a 2020 French coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré in her feature directorial debut. The film's ensemble cast is led by Fathia Youssouf who portrays Amy, a Senegalese-French girl with a traditional Muslim upbringing who is caught between traditional Muslim values and Internet culture when she joins a twerking dance crew. Doucouré was inspired to write the script upon seeing a suggestive youth talent show one day, as well as from her experience as a Senegalese-French person. She said that it is intended to criticise the hypersexualisation of pre-adolescent girls, with over 18 months of research. The script later won an award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Casting took six months, with 700 girls being auditioned for the role of Amy. Principal photography took three months, with a psychologist assisting the child actresses throughout. List Of Compositions By Jean Sibelius
The following is a list of works by Jean Sibelius (18651957), presented as a sortable table with eight parameters: title, category, key, catalogue number, year of composition, genre, and—if applicable—text author; for some compositions, comments are provided, as well. The table's default ordering is by genre and, within a genre, by date. Oeuvre The compositional career of the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius extended over eight decades, from juvenilia and unpublished works written in the 1870s and 1880s to his final works of the 1940s; the 1890s–1920s, however, represent the key years of his activity. Sibelius composed across many genres, and his oeuvre includes large-scale orchestral compositions, chamber music, songs, piano pieces, and choral works. Most highly regarded as a composer for the orchestra, the core of Sibelius's oeuvre is his set of seven symphonies, the last of which (in one movement) erodes the traditional subdivisions of sonata form.
