Michelle Nicolini
Michelle Zonato Nicolini or Michelle Nicolini (born January 5, 1982) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and mixed martial artist (MMA). Among the most accomplished female grapplers of all time, Nicolini holds third place for most IBJJF World Championship titles, with eight wins. She is a member of the IBJJF Hall of Fame. Grappling career Nicolini was born in the city of Itú in Brazil. At the age of 14 she started Capoeira stopping 3 years later to focus on jiu-jitsu, training under Robert Drysdale, who she received her black belt from. In 2015 she competed twice at Polaris Pro Grappling beating Angelica Galvao via toehold and losing to Gezary Matuda via armbar. Nicolini was scheduled to compete against Ffion Davies at Polaris 21 on September 24, 2022, for the promotion's inaugural bantamweight title Davies withdrew from the match and was replaced by Ashley Bendle on short notice. The European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship (also: European Championship or European Open) is the most prestigious and largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held in Europe by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). Gezary Matuda
Gezary Matuda is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt practitioner from Brazil. A two-time World and Pan Champion in colored belts, she is a three-time IBJJF World Champion, a three-time Pan American Champion, and a European Open black belt Champion. Career Gezary Matuda Bandeira was born on 12 July 1983 in Curitiba, Brazil. Matuda started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) in 2004, in addition to Capoeira and Muay Thai. Her first BJJ teacher was Carlos ‘Penão’ Alexandre Conceição, a black belt under Carlson Gracie, from whom she received all her belts from white to purple. Robert Lewis Drysdale (born October 5, 1981) is a Brazilian-American Brazilian jiu-jitsu 4th degree black belt under Léo Vieira, a retired undefeated Mixed martial arts, mixed martial artist and an instructor at his own BJJ academy. Capoeira
Capoeira () is an Afro-Brazilian martial art and game that includes elements of dance, acrobatics, capoeira music, music, and spirituality. It likely originated from enslaved Mbundu people, of the Kingdom of Ndongo, in present-day Angola. The Mbundu of Ndongo had a formal military in which soldiers were professionally trained for combat.
