Michael Clifton (born October 12, 1968) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competed in the now defunct NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour from 2005 to 2007. Foley has previously competed in series such as the SMART Modified Tour and the Southern Modified Racing Series, and is a frequent competitor at Bowman Gray Stadium in the modified ranks. Walkertown, North Carolina
Walkertown is a town in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States and a rural area outside of Winston-Salem. It is part of the Piedmont Triad. The population was 5,695 at the 2020 census. Geography is located in eastern Forsyth County and is bordered to the southwest by the city of Winston-Salem. U.S. Route 311 passes through the center of town, and U.S. Route 158 passes through the southeastern part; both highways lead southwest to downtown Winston-Salem. US 311 continues north-northeast to Madison, while US 158 leads east-northeast to Reidsville. North Carolina Highway 66 crosses both highways, leading northwest to Rural Hall. Motor Mile Speedway
Pulaski County Motorsports Park (formerly Pulaski County Speedway, New River Valley Speedway, then Motor Mile Speedway) is a paved oval racetrack in Fairlawn, Pulaski County, Virginia. It was purchased by Shelor Automotive Group in 2004 and was subsequently renamed Motor Mile Speedway. History The track announced that it has cut all sanctions with NASCAR and discontinued its oval track racing in late 2017 but reopened under NASCAR sanctioning in 2019. However, it continues to use its drag strip behind the back straightaway. Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is a motorsport racetrack located at the Nashville Fairgrounds near downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The track is the second-oldest continually operating track in the United States. The track held NASCAR Grand National/Winston Cup (now NASCAR Cup Series) races from 1958 to 1984. Track configuration The speedway is currently an 18 degree banked paved oval. The track is long. Inside the larger oval is a paved oval. The 2007 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour was the third season of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour (WSMT). It began with the Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 at Caraway Speedway on March 24. It ended with the Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 at Caraway again on October 6. Junior Miller entered the season as the defending championship. L. W. Miller would win his first and only championship in the series, 25 points ahead of series runner up Tim Brown. Southern National Motorsports Park (formerly Southern National Speedway and Southern National Raceway Park) is a auto racing track in Lucama, North Carolina. History Southern National Motorsports Park hosted 4 NASCAR Southeast Series races between 1996 and 2002. The track also hosted 7 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour events between 2006 and 2014. The facility had one ASA National Tour race in 1998. Hickory Motor Speedway
Hickory Motor Speedway is a short track located in Hickory, North Carolina. It is one of stock car racing's most storied venues, and is often referred to as the "World's Most Famous Short Track" and the "Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars". The track first opened in 1951 as a dirt track. Gwyn Staley won the first race at the speedway and later became the first track champion. Drivers such as Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Ralph Earnhardt also became track champions in the 1950s, with Earnhardt winning five of them. In 1953, NASCAR's Grand National Series (later the NASCAR Cup Series) visited the track for the first time. Tim Flock won the first race at the speedway, which became a regular part of the Grand National schedule. Ace Speedway
Ace Speedway is a oval stock car racing track in Altamahaw, North Carolina. The track was constructed by Roy Maddren and opened in 1956 as a dirt oval. In 1984, the track was expanded to a dirt oval. In 1990, under the ownership of Fred and Jim Turner, the track was paved and was under the NASCAR Winston Racing Series banner. In 1999, the track was re-expanded to a mile paved oval, the pits was expanded and other stuff was added to the track such as new bleachers. Currently, the track runs CARS Tour.
