Metrorrey
Metrorrey, officially Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metrorrey, is a rapid transit system that serves the Monterrey metropolitan area, metropolitan area of Monterrey. It is operated by the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metrorrey, which is part of the decentralized public administration of Nuevo León. In 2022, it was the List of North American rapid transit systems by ridership, sixth largest metro system in North America by ridership. The inaugural line opened to the public on 25 April 1991 and served 17 stations. The system has since expanded. As of 2024, the system operates 50 high-floor electric trains along 3 lines, serving 40 stations with a route of . Operations Lines The Metrorrey has three lines with 40 stations. Metrorrey Line 3
Line 3 is a line on the Metrorrey system. It has 8 stations and is long. The line opened on February 27, 2021. History Construction for line 3 started in 2013. In early 2018, the state of Nuevo León signed a funding agreement to provide 600 million pesos to Metrorrey for continued construction on Line 3. Up to that period, Metrorrey reported total expenditures on Line 3 of over 10 billion pesos. The transit agency claims it spent these funds for viaducts, and station features, such as awnings, elevators, and escalators. By January 2020, construction for Line 3 was complete, according to the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT), the federal transportation agency. However, state government officials state that service is not available because the rolling stock has not been delivered. Metrorrey Line 1
Line 1 is a line on the Metrorrey system. It has 19 stations and it runs from Talleres to Exposición. The line opened on April 25, 1991. Metrorrey Line 2
Line 2 is a line on the Metrorrey system. It has 13 stations and it runs from Sendero to Zaragoza. The line opened on 30 November 1994. History Construction for Line 2 started in February 1993 and was inaugurated on November 30, 1994, in the stretch from General Anaya to Zaragoza. After 14 years, the second stage of the line, from Regina to Universidad, was inaugurated on October 31, 2007, by José Natividad González Parás, Governor of Nuevo León from 2003 to 2009. Jaime Rodríguez Calderón
Jaime Heliodoro Rodríguez Calderón (born 28 December 1957), sometimes referred to by his nickname "''El Bronco''", is a Mexican politician. He served as the Governor of Nuevo León from 2015 to 2021 and was a candidate in the 2018 presidential election. Born in Ejido Pablillo, Galeana, Nuevo León, Rodríguez earned a degree in agricultural engineering at the UANL. Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit
Autonomous rail rapid transit (ART) is a lidar (light detection and ranging) guided bi-articulated bus system for urban passenger transport. Developed and manufactured by CRRC through CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co Ltd, it was unveiled in Zhuzhou in the Hunan province on June 2, 2017. ART is specifically referred to as a train or rapid transit as Lingang digital rail rapid transit and electric road by its manufacturer, however the public describes it as a bus or trolleybus and bus rapid transit. Its exterior is composed of individual fixed sections joined by articulated gangways, resembling a rubber-tyred tram and translohr.
