Metal Hawk
is a 1988 multidirectional shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. Assuming control of the titular attack helicopter, the player is tasked with using a machine gun and air-to-surface missiles to destroy enemies and earn a certain number of points before the timer runs out, all while avoiding collision with ether enemy projectiles and obstacles. The Metal Hawk can change its altitude to allow it to either rise higher in the air or lower towards the ground. It runs on the Namco System 2 arcade board. ''Metal Hawk'' was one of the first games to be developed under Namco's then-new research and development (R&D) video game division in Japan. The development staff focused on creating a game that was both fun to play and exhilarating, and one with powerful, impressive hardware capabilities, specifically in its motion simulator arcade cabinet. Namco
was a Japanese multinational video game and entertainment company founded in 1955. It operated video arcades and amusement parks globally, and produced video games, films, toys, and arcade cabinets. Pac-Land
is a 1984 platform video game developed and published by Namco for arcades. It was distributed in North America by Bally Midway, and in Europe by Atari Games. Controlling Pac-Man, the player must make it to the end of each stage to return a lost fairy back to its home in Fairyland. Pac-Man will need to avoid obstacles, such as falling logs and water-spewing fire hydrants, alongside his enemies, the Ghost Gang. Eating large flashing Power Pellets will cause the ghosts to turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for points. Mirai Ninja (video Game)
, is a side scrolling beat 'em up arcade video game, released by Namco in 1988 exclusively in Japan. ''Mirai Ninja'' was adapted into the Japanese Mirai Ninja (film), live-action film of the same name, which was also produced by Namco. The game runs on Namco System 2 hardware, and is the first Namco game to be adapted into a film. Character designs and directing of the film were done by Keita Amemiya of ''Zeiram'' and ''Kamen Rider'' fame. Both the game and the movie were released in the same year. Although the arcade game was only released in Japan, the movie was released direct-to-video overseas by Streamline Pictures, Mondo Pop, under the two titles of ''Cyber Ninja'' in the United States, and ''Warlord'' in Canada. Ordyne
is a horizontal Shoot 'em up#Scrolling shooters, scrolling shooter arcade game, which was released by Namco in 1988 only in Japan. It runs on Namco System 2 hardware, and was ported to the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989, with releases in both Japan and North America. It features a cameo from Pac-Man (character), Pac-Man, as the "Stock bomber shot" - and the arcade version was also included in ''Namco Museum Volume 4'' for the PlayStation (console), Sony PlayStation. Splatterhouse
is a beat 'em up arcade game developed and published by Namco in 1988. It was the first in a series of games released in home console and personal computer formats. This game would later spawn the parody '' Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti'', the sequels '' Splatterhouse 2'', '' Splatterhouse 3'', and the 2010 remake '' Splatterhouse'', with the classic games being added to '' Namco Museum'' since 2017.
