Messestadt Riem
Messestadt Riem (literally: Convention City Riem; Central Bavarian: ''Messestod Ream'') is an urban district in the east of Munich. It is part of the municipality 15 Trudering-Riem, and located entirely on the grounds of the 1992 abandoned Munich-Riem airport and includes today, along with a residential area, the Neue Messe München trade fair center and the Riem Arcaden shopping mall. History Messestadt Riem is, after Freiham, the second youngest district of Munich. After the flight operation was moved in 1992 to the new Munich Airport, the old airport building in Riem could be emptied and the construction of the new exhibition center started from the mid-1990s, with the corresponding rapid transit connections in the following years. In 1998, the fair could finally move out of their exhibition halls on the Theresienhöhe to the spacious new building in the fair city. Erding Ring Closure
The Erding ring closure (german: Erdinger Ringschluss) is a project to build a long, double-track railway that is planned to run from Freising via Munich Airport to Erding. Route Line 5559 would run from Freising station as a four-track line together with line 5500 (the Munich–Regensburg railway) to Neufahrn North junction (''Abzweig Neufahrn-Nord''). It would run over the "Neufahrn counter curve" (''Neufahrner Gegenkurve'') to reach line 5557 (the Neufahrn Link) at Neufahrn East junction (''Abzweig Neufahrn-Ost'') and connect with line 5556 ( Munich East–Munich Airport railway) at Airport West junction (''Abzweig Flughafen-West''). Bundesautobahn 94
is an autobahn in southern Germany. When completed, it will connect Munich with Passau. Currently, only the parts Munich- Burghausen, and a small section in Malching have been built. Between Burghausen and Simbach am Inn, there is a 14 kilometer, two-lane section that is signed as Bundesstraße 12. Provisions for an upgrade to A 94 exist here. The route between Forstinning and Heldenstein was the subject of a decades-long debate. History In the original plans for the A 94, the section between Simbach and Passau was not planned. Instead, the A 94 was supposed to cross the Inn to the Austrian border, at which point it would continue through the Innviertel to Ried im Innkreis and connect to the Austrian A 8 towards Vienna. Munich U-Bahn
The Munich U-Bahn (german: U-Bahn München) is an electric rail rapid transit network in Munich, Germany. The system began operation in 1971, and is operated by the municipally owned Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG; Munich Transport Company). Central Bavarian
Central Bavarian form a subgroup of Bavarian dialects in large parts of Austria and the German state of Bavaria along the Danube river, on the northern side of the Eastern Alps.
