The MERALCO Power Spikers were a women's volleyball team playing in the Shakey's V-League and the Philippine Superliga. The team debuted in 2013 in the Shakey's V-League. The team is owned by the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO). Cydthealee Demecillo
Cydthealee Alivio Demecillo (born December 2, 1993), better known as Cyd Demecillo, is a Filipino volleyball athlete. Personal life Demecillo was born on December 2, 1993 in Cebu, the youngest daughter of Esmael and Imelda Demecillo. Her two other siblings are Cydeshemee and Cydtishamee. Since 2011, the Demecillo sisters are in charge of their family business, the Cydelicious Lechon Manok restaurant. She graduated high school from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation where she played a Middle Hitter. In February 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Sports Studies. Career Demecillo was a member of the De La Salle University collegiate women's varsity volleyball team in both indoor and beach volleyball where she played as an Outside Hitter. Meralco Reddy Kilowatts
The MERALCO Reddy Kilowatts were a basketball team of the MERALCO Athletic Club owned by the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) that played in the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) from 1968 to 1972. Its moniker and mascot, Reddy Kilowatt, was a licensed branding character used by the company during that period. The company briefly joined the MICAA prior to World War II and was re-admitted in 1968. The team consisted of players from the just-disbanded Ysmael Steel Admirals – namely, Alberto “Big Boy” Reynoso, Alfonso “Boy” Marquez, Jimmy Mariano and Orlando Bauzon. Other players included, Ramon Lucindo, Robert Jaworski, Fort Acuña, Francis Arnaiz, Bobby Salonga, Arthur Herrera, Larry Mumar and Jumbo Salvador. The Meralco Bolts is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team began in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) acquired the PBA franchise of the Sta. Lucia Realtors. The team is one of three PBA teams presently under the control of businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan – the other teams being the TNT Tropang Giga and the NLEX Road Warriors. 2015 PSL Season
The 2015 PSL season is the third season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). There were two indoor conferences for the season – the All-Filipino, and the Grand Prix. It staged its first beach volleyball tournament, the Challenge Cup, for the women's and men's divisions. Developments * The PSL is now sanctioned under the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI), the newest governing body for volleyball in the Philippines under the leadership of POC 1st Vice President Joey Romasanta, aside for being recognized by the AVC and the FIVB. The Shakey's V-League 12th Season Reinforced Open Conference was the 24th conference of the Shakey's V-League that started on October 10, 2015 at the Filoil Flying V Arena, San Juan. The opening ceremonies were held on June 29, 2014, with the first doubleheader of volleyball games at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. The University of the Visayas (UV) is a private institution located in Cebu City, Philippines. It is the first school in the province of Cebu to attain university status. History Vicente Gullas (1898–1970) founded the University of the Visayas in 1919 aiming to educate young people from average-income families. It was initially called the Visayan Institute, and occupied two rooms rented at the City Intermediate School.
