Menston Primary School
Menston is a village and civil parish in the City of Bradford in the county of West Yorkshire, England. Along with Burley in Wharfedale, most of Menston is within Wharfedale Ward in the metropolitan borough of Bradford. The remainder of Menston is in the Leeds City Council area. At the 2011 census it had a population of 4,498 (down from 4,660 in 2001). The village is home to St Mary's Menston Catholic Voluntary Academy, a secondary school with academy status. Menston is situated near the towns of Guiseley and Otley, with which it shares strong transport and community links. Landmarks Menston's Anglican parish church is dedicated to St John the Divine, and is part of the Diocese of Leeds. Harry Ramsden's is a fast food restaurant chain based in the United Kingdom which offers fish and chips and assorted themed dishes. Founded by restaurant entrepreneur Harry Ramsden in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, in 1928, it was sold to his partner in 1954. Since then it has a succession of corporate owners: Associated Fisheries, Merryweathers, Granada, Compass, SSP, BVL and Deep Blue. As of 2025, it has about 8 restaurants in the UK. Early history The business was started by Harry Ramsden (10 February 1888 – 1963) in 1928 in a wooden hut in White Cross, Guiseley, West Yorkshire, northern England. ''Yours Truly, Angry Mob'' is the second studio album by English rock band Kaiser Chiefs. It was released on 23 February 2007 in Belgium and the Netherlands, 26 February 2007 in the rest of the world by B-Unique Records and in March in North America by Universal Motown. Produced by Stephen Street, who produced the band's debut album ''Employment'', ''Yours Truly, Angry Mob'' is lyrically darker and more socially aware than its predecessor, with tracks dealing with street crime, violence, fame, and the inaccuracy of tabloid articles. The song "Boxing Champ" features drummer Nick Hodgson on lead vocals. Kaiser Chiefs are an English indie rock band from Leeds who originally formed in 1996 as Runston Parva, before reforming as Parva in 2000, and releasing one studio album, ''22'', in 2003, before renaming and establishing themselves in their current name that same year. Arthington
Arthington is a linear village in Wharfedale, in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. It is a civil parish which, according to the 2011 census, had a population of 532. It is in the Otley ward of the City of Leeds, and the Leeds North West parliamentary constituency. Geography The village is a small collection of dwellings and farms along the A659 road (Arthington Lane) running from Pool-in-Wharfedale in the West to Harewood in the East, and south of a section of the River Wharfe. Wetherby ( ) is a market town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is close to West Yorkshire county's border with North Yorkshire and lies approximately from Leeds city centre, from York and from Harrogate. The town stands on the River Wharfe and, for centuries, it has been a crossing place and staging post on the A1 road (Great Britain), Great North Road midway between London and Edinburgh. Ilkley railway station serves Ilkley in the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. On the Wharfedale Line, it is served by a combination of Class 333 and Class 331 electric trains run by Northern Trains, which also manages the station. Menston Railway Station
Menston railway station serves Menston in the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. On the Wharfedale Line between Ilkley and Leeds/ Bradford Forster Square, it is served by Class 331 and 333 electric trains run by Northern Trains, who also manage the station. The line was opened in August 1865 by the Midland Railway on their line from Apperley Junction to , from where trains could travel to either Ilkley or via the Otley and Ilkley Joint Railway, however, Menston station did not open until April 1873. The route to Otley was closed in 1965, but the Ilkley line (though also listed for closure in the 1963 Beeching Report) avoided a similar fate, being finally reprieved in 1972.
