The Multi-Purpose Tower is a skyscraper located along Jalan Munshi Abdullah in the midtown of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tower is headquarters to Multi-Purpose Holdings Berhad, MPI Generali Insurans Berhad, Alliance Bank, and Bandar Raya Developments Berhad. History Menara Multi-Purpose was developed by Bandar Raya Developments Berhad (BRDB) and was completed in 1994. Menara Multi Purpose was designed by John Portman & Associates and Jurubena Bertiga International. It was initially envisaged to be part of a greater Capital Square commercial development. However, the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis stalled other components of the project, leaving the Menara Multi Purpose building the only completed structure then, surrounded by several partially completed and abandoned structures (including a second office tower). Munshi Abdullah
Abdullah bin Abdul al Kadir (1796–1854) ( ar, عبد الله بن عبد القادر ') also known as Munshi Abdullah, was a Malayan writer of mixed ancestry. He was a famous Malacca-born munshi of Singapore and died in Jeddah, a part of the Ottoman Empire. Munshi Abdullah has been popularly regarded as among the most cultured Malays who ever wrote, one of the greatest innovators in Malay letters and the father of modern Malay literature. The term ''Munshi'' means "teacher" or "educator". Munshi Abdullah was a great-grandson of a Hadhrami Arab trader, and also had Tamil and to a smaller extent, Malay ancestry. Owing to his ethnic and religious background, the Malays would refer to him as a ''Jawi Peranakan'' or ''Jawi Pekan''. Ampang Jaya
Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just Ampang, is a town, a mukim and a parliamentary constituency straddling parts of the Hulu Langat District and Gombak District, in eastern Selangor, Malaysia. It is located just outside the eastern border of Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory. It is administered by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), which is the formal name of the township as well. Masjid Jamek LRT station is a rapid transit station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the interchange station between two of Rapid KL's light rapid transit (LRT) systems, namely the LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines and the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. The station is one of the only two stations that integrate the LRT lines, the other being Putra Heights station. The station is situated near, and named after the Masjid Jamek in central Kuala Lumpur. Despite being called an interchange station, up until 28 November 2011, there were effectively two Masjid Jamek stations in operational terms. Bandaraya LRT station is an elevated rapid transit station in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The station is on the common route shared by the Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line (originally known as STAR Line). Gombak
The Gombak District is an administrative district located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The district was created on February 1, 1974, the same day when Kuala Lumpur was declared a Federal Territory. Until 1997, Rawang was the district capital; the capital has been moved to Bandar Baru Selayang. Gombak borders Kuala Lumpur to the southeast and the Genting Highlands to the east.
