David Meece
David Meece (born May 26, 1952) is an American contemporary Christian musician who enjoyed success in the mid-1980s, and into the early 2010s, with more than thirty Top 10 hits including several No. 1 songs. In November 2012, Meece was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for his body of work by the Artists Music Guild. Early life and education Meece was raised in Humble, Texas, with an abusive and alcoholic father. Meece found solace in playing piano, and by his mid-teens he was touring in Europe and the US. Meece went on to study music at the Peabody Conservatory of Music where he met his wife Debbie, who played viola. While attending Baltimore's Peabody Institute, he experienced a religious conversion, and devoted his life to Jesus. Meece became a youth pastor, and began writing songs reflecting his Christian beliefs, adding classical influences to pop melodies. John William Meece (born June 3, 1843) was a member of the Mississippi Legislature in 1911. He also served as a Sergeant for the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. Cold Meece
Swynnerton is a village and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. It lies in the Borough of Stafford, and at the 2001 census had a population of 4,233, increasing to 4,453 at the 2011 Census. Swynnerton is listed in the Domesday Book identifying the lord in 1066 as Brothir (of Oaken) and in 1086, Edelo (of Rauceby), who was in service to Robert de Stafford, the tenant-in-chief. The record shows the settlement consisted of ten villagers' households, and five smallholders. Property consisted of eight ploughlands suitable for one lord's plough teams, and six men's plough teams. Other resources are listed as ten acres of meadow, and one league of woodland. The owner's value was estimated at £2. St Mary's Church dates back to at least the 13th century, and as far back as the 11th century. Swynnerton received its charter from Edward I in 1306. Cold Meece railway station was a short-lived railway station built during the Second World War by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) to serve ROF Swynnerton. History ROF Swynnerton was a Royal Ordnance filling factory built in 1939–40. It became operational in the middle of 1940 and by mid 1942 the number of people working at the site had grown to approximately 18,500. To meet the need of getting the factory workers to and from the factory the Ministry of Supply asked the LMS to construct a station. The site already had an extensive rail network served from the West Coast Main Line between and but the LMS chose to build a new branch line running to the site from the North Staffordshire Railway line between and . Mill Meece Pumping Station is a pumping station, located in the village of Mill Meece in Staffordshire, England. Its function, powered by steam engines, was to pump water from boreholes to a reservoir in Hanchurch, from which it flows by gravity to supply the Potteries area. Description Mill Meece pumping station lies approximately 5 miles west of Stone. It is the second pumping station to be constructed in the area, the first being three miles to the north in the hamlet of Hatton. There are four boreholes on the Mill Meece site from which water is lifted. Water is raised at Mill Meece by lift pumps which deliver water to an underground tank.
