David Gerard McDaid (born 3 December 1990) is an Irish professional Association football, footballer who plays for NIFL Premiership side Glenavon F.C., Glenavon as a Forward (association football), striker. Jim McDaid
James Joseph McDaid (born 3 October 1949) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician who served as Minister of State for Transport from 2002 to 2004 and Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation from 1997 to 2004. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Donegal North-East constituency from 1989 to 2010. McDaid has had a concurrent career as a medical doctor and continues to work as a general practitioner in Letterkenny. Early life McDaid was born in Termon, County Donegal in 1949. He was educated in St Eunan's College in Letterkenny between 1962 and 1967. He went on to attend University College Galway (UCG), and was conferred with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1974. Sean Andrew McDaid (born 6 March 1986) is a former professional footballer who played for Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United before having his career cut short by injury in March 2011. James Pat McDaid (born 1980s) is an Irish sportsman and politician. A Gaelic footballer, he has played for and captained the Glenswilly senior team. Born to James and Peggy ( McDermott of Termon), McDaid has four siblings: Barry, Nicola, Aisling and Mark. He grew up at Glenkeeragh, Glenswilly, attended Glenswilly National School and St Eunan's College in Letterkenny, then studied Sustainable Building Technology at Institute of Technology, Sligo. McDaid's Football Special is a soft drink (locally known as a 'mineral') produced for James McDaid & Corey Delamingus Ltd., a company based in Ramelton in County Donegal in Ulster, Ireland. Other currently produced beverages sold by McDaid's include Pineapple, Creamy Cola and American Ice Cream Soda. All McDaid's products were originally made and bottled at the Swilly Bottling Stores in Ramelton in North Donegal. However, since 2014, all of McDaid's products are now made and bottled for them by Maine Soft Drinks Ltd in Ballymoney, County Antrim. Some McDaid's products, including Football Special, are also manufactured under license by the Reading Soda Works in Reading, Pennsylvania. The original factory in Ramelton was formerly a creamery. Daniel McDaid (; born 4 August 1941) is a 2-time Irish Olympic athlete and four times national marathon champion from Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland. He is a former member of the Dublin-based athletic club Clonliffe Harriers. He competed for Ireland at two Olympic Games, Munich 1972 and Montreal 1976. He was the first Irishman to cross the finish line at the 1972 games.
