María Teresa Martín Cadiemo (born 1965) is a Spanish singer. Early life Martín was born in 1965 in Barcelona, Spain. Her mother was from Catalonia, and her father was from Málaga, Andalusia. While on a holiday in Cartagena, her father entered her in a Flamenco/ cante contest, which she won. She expanded her knowledge of flamenco styles by listening to recordings of singers such as Juan Valderrama, Manolo Caracol, Camarón de la Isla, Lole Montoya, and Pastora Pavón Cruz (also known as La Niña de los Peines). She also received formal musical training and worked as a "''Cantaora de atrás''" (singer for flamenco dance). Career In 1987, she won the Lámpara Minera prize at the Concurso Nacional de La Unión (aka Festival de las Minas). Antonio Chacón
Antonio Chacón (1869–1929) was a Spanish flamenco singer antaor Chacón was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz Province. He began earning a living by performing flamenco around 1884. He toured Andalucia with his two friends, the Molina brothers - dancer Antonio Molina, and guitarist Javier Molina. He was later hired by Silverio Franconetti for his café in Seville. He was noted for his skill in singing the cartagenera, malagueñas, granaína and media granaína, which earned him the popular title of "Don". According to Fernando el de Triana, he was so accomplished that all of the most successful ''cantaores'' (singers) performing with him renounced their right of seniority and allowed Chacón to perform last, because the audience would simply leave when he finished. Kiko Veneno
José María López Sanfeliu (born April 3, 1952), better known by his stage name Kiko Veneno, is a Spanish musician. Biography He was born in Figueres, where he was brought up in a military home, and later grew up in Cádiz finally settling down in Seville. He got the nickname Kiko while studying at university. He studied History and philosophy and after graduating travelled through Europe and the US. During his travels he attended concerts of artists like Frank Zappa and Bob Dylan, which influenced his style. Still, also during these years he rediscovered flamenco. In 1975 he formed the group Veneno (band), Veneno with brothers Rafael and Raimundo Amador. In 1977 they produced the eponymous album ''Veneno'' produced by Ricardo Pachón. Joan Albert Amargós
Joan Albert Amargós is a Spanish composer and conductor born in Barcelona in 1950. Amargós is an instrumentalist on piano and clarinet, and has composed a number of chamber and symphonic works. He is also a great connoisseur of Flamenco, which has served as the basis for some of his compositions, which always breathe a brightness and colour distinctly Mediterranean. Juan Ignacio Gómez Gorjón, better known as Juan Gómez "Chicuelo", (born 1968) is a Spanish flamenco guitarist from Barcelona, composer and director. Although he worked with a wide range of artists, Chicuelo is usually accompanied by the singer Miguel Poveda and singer Duquende, with whom he has toured extensively in Europe, Japan and the US and made many recordings with. Omara Portuondo Peláez (born 29 October 1930) is a Cuban singer and dancer. A founding member of the popular vocal group Cuarteto d'Aida, Portuondo has collaborated with many important Cuban musicians during her long career, including Julio Gutiérrez, Juanito Márquez and Chucho Valdés. Although primarily known for her rendition of boleros, she has recorded in a wide range of styles from jazz to son cubano. Vicenç Montoliu i Massana, better known as Tete Montoliu (28 March 1933 – 24 August 1997) was a Spanish jazz pianist from Catalonia, Spain. Born blind, he learnt braille music at age seven. His styles varied from hard bop, through Afro-Cuban, world fusion, to post bop. He recorded with Lionel Hampton in 1956 and played with saxophonist Roland Kirk in 1963.
