Maybrook Line
The Maybrook Line was a line of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad which connected with its Waterbury Branch in Derby, Connecticut, and its Maybrook Yard in Maybrook, New York, where it interchanged with other carriers. It was the main east-west freight route of the New Haven until its merger with the Penn Central in 1969. History After the New York and New England Railroad succeeded merging with the Newburgh, Dutchess and Connecticut Railroad at Hopewell Junction en route to the Fishkill Ferry station, they sought to expand traffic onto the newly built Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge in order to move goods to the other side of the Hudson River, and the Central New England Railway was perfectly willing to provide a connection. Maybrook Yard
Maybrook Yard was a major rail yard located in Maybrook, New York. It was the western gateway of its long-time owner, the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad and its predecessors. It was here that freight cars were interchanged between railroads from the west and the New Haven, whose Maybrook Line headed east over the Poughkeepsie Bridge to the railroad's main freight yard at Cedar Hill Yard in New Haven, Connecticut. The rail line through the yard was finished in 1889 by the Hudson Connecting Railroad. The yard was soon acquired by the Central New England Railway, but traffic never justified more than one yard and a five-stall roundhouse. Cedar Hill Yard is a classification yard located in New Haven, Connecticut, New Haven, North Haven, Connecticut, North Haven and Hamden, Connecticut, United States. The Erie Lackawanna Railway , known as the Erie Lackawanna Railroad until 1968, was formed from the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. The official motto of the line was "The Friendly Service Route". Beacon (CNE Station)
Beacon station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson Line, serving Beacon, New York. The station is heavily used by residents of Orange and Dutchess Counties who drive to the station. It is a wheelchair accessible station, featuring wheelchair ramps, an elevator to the train platform, and a high-level island platform which is level with the doors on the train (for many years, most Upper Hudson Line stations had platforms that were lower than the train doors). It also boasts a small newsstand on the platform itself, open daily. It is not fully ADA accessible. Paid parking is provided. The New York and New England Railroad (NY&NE) was a railroad connecting southern New York State with Hartford, Connecticut; Providence, Rhode Island; and Boston, Massachusetts. It operated under that name from 1873 to 1893. Prior to 1873 it was known as the Boston, Hartford and Erie Railroad, which had been formed from several smaller railroads that dated back to 1846.
