Maybank Tigers
The Maybank Tigers are a professional men's volleyball team playing major leagues such as the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) and the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team is owned by Maybank, Maybank Philippines and was one of the four pioneer men's teams in the PSL. It debuted in the men's inaugural tournament, the 2013 PSL Grand Prix Conference, 2013 Grand Prix conference, where it finished in third (bronze) place. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. 2014 PSL Season
The 2014 PSL Season was the second season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). There were two conferences for the season – the All-Filipino and the Grand Prix – for both women’s and men’s division. The All-Filipino Conference was held between May 16, 2014 to July 26, 2014 with the Generika-Army Lady Troopers and the PLDT Home TVolution-Air Force Power Attackers emerging as champions for the Women’s and Men’s divisions, respectively. The champions of the Grand Prix Conference - the Petron Blaze Spikers (women's) and the Cignal HD Spikers (men's) - will represent the Philippines in the 2015 AVC Club Volleyball Championships. 2013 PSL Season
The 2013 PSL Season was the maiden season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL), the first professional volleyball league in the Philippines. The PSL began as a women's league during its inaugural tournament, the Invitational conference. A men's division was added for the succeeding tournament, the Grand Prix conference. The TMS-Philippine Army Lady Troopers were the first PSL champions, winning both tournaments held during the season. Premier Volleyball League 14th Season Reinforced Open Conference
The Premier Volleyball League 1st Season Reinforced Open Conference was the first conference of the Premier Volleyball League (28th conference of the former Shakey's V-League). Conference started on April 30, 2017 and concluded on June 13, 2017. All elimination round games were played at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan while the semifinals and Finals games were held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig. The women's tournament was supposed to feature the use of foreign reinforcements, however, they were initially unable to play due to difficulty in securing their international transfer certificates (ITC) from the FIVB. On May 17, 2017, Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) confirmed that the FIVB has approved the ITC requests for the imports. The imports began to play on May 18, 2017.
