Matador BBQs One-Day Cup
The One-Day Cup, for which the prize was renamed the Dean Jones Trophy from the 2024–25 season, is an Australian domestic List A 50-over limited-overs cricket tournament. It has had many different names, formats and teams since the inaugural 1969-1970 season. Initially a knockout cup, the competition now features a single round-robin followed by a finals series. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia, who also compete in the first-class Sheffield Shield. Three other teams have also played in the tournament for short periods of time: New Zealand's national team competed from 1969–70 until the 1974–75, Australian Capital Territory participated from 1997–98 until 1999–2000, and a select Cricket Australia XI took part as the seventh team for three seasons from 2015–16 until 2017–18. Cricket Australia XI
Cricket Australia XI is a domestic cricket team that plays matches against international teams touring Australia. Cricket Australia XI played in Australia's limited-overs tournament from 2015–16 to 2017–18. Before each tournament, a 14-man squad was selected from players with state contracts who had not been picked in their respective states' 14-man List A squads for that season's tournament. The aim was to develop their skills against top players. The addition of the Cricket Australia XI to the limited-overs cricket tournament expanded the competition to seven teams. The team made their List A debut against New South Wales on 5 October 2015, losing by 279 runs. They scored their first win five days later against Tasmania, winning by 3 runs. The South Australia men's cricket team is an Australian men's professional first-class cricket team based in the state of South Australia. HIH Insurance was Australia's second-largest insurance company before it was placed into provisional liquidation on 15 March 2001. Jason Neil Gillespie (born 19 April 1975) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Jason Gillespie was appointed as the head coach for Pakistan's red-ball (Test) cricket team on April 28, 2024. However, his tenure was short-lived; he resigned in December 2024.
