Bruno Faidutti (born 23 October 1961) is a historian and sociologist, living in France, who is best known as a board game game designer, designer. Early life and education Bruno Faidutti studied law, economics, and sociology, eventually earning a doctorate in history by writing about the scientific debate in the Renaissance on the reality of the unicorn. His favorite authors are Thomas Pynchon, James Joyce, Marcel Proust, Salman Rushdie, and Umberto Eco, his favorite movie, Andrei Tarkovsky's ''Andrei Roublev (film), Andrei Roublev''. He came into the world of hobby gaming through ''Cosmic Encounter'' and roleplaying games, and was one of the first French ''Dungeons & Dragons'' players. China Moon (game)
''China Moon'' is a 1994 American neo-noir romantic thriller film directed by John Bailey and starring Ed Harris, Madeleine Stowe and Benicio del Toro. It was written by Roy Carlson. It was filmed in 1991 but "shelved" for three years before its release. Plot Detectives Kyle Bodine and Lamar Dickey investigate a murder scene. Bodine tells Dickey that all murderers make stupid mistakes, which is how they get caught. At a local bar, Bodine hits on Rachel Munro, who is married to wealthy banker Rupert Munro; she blows Bodine off. At home, Rachel gets drunk as she views a private investigator's photos of Rupert having sex with Adele, an employee. Serge Charles Jean Laget (13 February 1959 – 23 January 2023) was a French board game designer. He also worked as an education advisor near Avignon. Biography Serge Laget and Alain Munoz designed the game ''Le Gang des Traction-Avant'' from International Team, and they were awarded the Pion d'Or 84 for the game. In 2003, Laget created the board game ''Mare Nostrum'', and its successor, ''Mare Nostrum: Mythology Expansion'', two years later. In 2011, he created ''Cargo Noir'' and, in 2020, ''Nidavellir''. Castle (sometimes known as Palace, not to be confused with Palace aka Shithead) is a card game designed by Bruno Faidutti, Francesca Flores, and Serge Laget. Art by Emmanuel Roudier. Played with 2-5 players. It is a shedding card game, i.e. the winning player is the one who disposes of all of their cards first. Game play Players are given a set of square cards which are to be played onto the table, which has a cardboard castle battlement layout. Cards are played into one of four regions: * in the courtyard, * on the battlements, * on the towers, or * outside the castle. When played, the cards will usually allow the player to take some sort of special action, which is unique to the card. End Game The first player to rid himself of all his cards wins.
