Martin Jeitziner
Martin Jeitziner (born 13 January 1963) is a retired Swiss football midfielder who played in the 1980s and 1990s. Football career Jeitziner played his youth football with FC Basel and advanced to their first team during their 1980–81 season under head-coach Helmut Benthaus. The team were reigning Swiss champions and Benthaus wanted to integrate the youngster into the team. Jeitziner played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game in the Charmilles Stadium on 9 Mai 1981 as Basel were defeated 1–2 by Servette. He played his second game just one week later in the home game in the St. Jakob Stadium against Luzern. These were the only two games that he played in this season. During the following season trainer Benthaus used Jeitziner as a substitute, substituting him in during various Cup of the Alps matches and test games at the beginning of the season. The Fussball Club Basel 1893 1981–82 season was their 88th season since the club was founded. It was their 36th consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football after they won promotion during the season 1945–46. They played their home games in the St. Jakob Stadium. Marco Walker (born 2 May 1970) is a Swiss football manager and a former international who played as a defender during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Club career Walker started his youth football with local club FC Bellach. From 1983 with he was with FC Solothurn, FC Grenchen, again Solothurn and Bettlach, before signing his first professional contract in 1988 with FC Grenchen in the second tier of Swiss football. Massimo Ceccaroni (born 15 August 1968) is a retired Swiss- Italian footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He played for FC Basel for very nearly his entire career. He was later trainer at amateur club BSC Old Boys and then trainer of the Basel U-21 team. Between 2012 and 2020 he was technical manager of the youth department. Stefan Huber (born 14 June 1966) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a goalkeeper during the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. Club career Huber played his youth football by local club FC Unterstrass. He then moved to Grasshopper Club and began his professional career under with them in 1984 under head-coach Miroslav Blažević. Four years later he then moved to Lausanne Sports under manager Radu Nunweiller. Ernst-August Künnecke
Ernst-August Künnecke (born 3 January 1938 – 16 March 2002) was a German football player and football coach. Career Künnecke played his youth football with Hannover 96. He advanced and played at amateur level. In 1960 he became amateur champion with Hannover 96. Künnecke remained amateur, but his playing career did not last long. He moved to VfV Hildesheim and later to SV Arminia Hannover, before returning to Hannover 96. In 1967 Künnecke started his coaching career with SC Tuttlingen, a small amateur club in the south of the Black Forest. In 1969 he signed as head coach for Patro Eisden in Belgium. Afterwards, Künnecke moved to second division Racing Mechelen and won the title and were promoted in the 1974–75 season, but were relegated a year later. Beat Sutter
Beat Sutter (born 12 December 1962 in Gelterkinden) is a Swiss former football striker who played throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Sutter began his career with FC Basel in 1981 and went on to play 114 matches for the club before he left to join Neuchâtel Xamax in 1986. He spent the best years of his career at Xamax, playing over 200 games there. In 1994, he signed for Yverdon-Sport FC, but he spent just one season there and moved on to FC St. Gallen in 1995. Jörg Stohler
Jörg Stohler (born 27 August 1949) is a Swiss former international footballer who played as a defender during the 1970s and 1980s. He played over 300 League Championship matches and won the Swiss League Championship four times. He also won the Swiss Cup, the Swiss League Cup and Coppa delle Alpi once. Stohler played ten games for the Swiss national team. Football career Born in Pratteln, Stohler started his football in the youth system with local club Pratteln and as of 1967 played regularly for their first team. He moved to FC Basel in 1970.
