Marlon Brutus
Marlon Chenjeria Brutus (born 10 October 1980) is a Sint Maartener cricketer. A right-handed batsman (cricket), batsman and left-arm Seam bowling, fast-medium bowler, Brutus was selected in Sint Maarten national cricket team, Sint Maarten's squad for the Stanford 20/20#2006 tournament, 2006 Stanford 20/20, playing in their preliminary round loss to the United States Virgin Islands cricket team, United States Virgin Islands (USVI). In the USVI innings he bowled two over (cricket), overs which conceded 12 runs, but he did take the wicket of Terrance Webbe with the fourth ball of the tournament. Batting at number eight, Brutus was dismissed duck (cricket), without scoring by John Florent. This marks his only appearance in Twenty20 cricket. As of October 2014, Brutus was playing minor inter-island matches for Sint Maarten. Seam Bowling
Seam bowling is a bowling technique in cricket whereby the ball is deliberately bowled on to its seam, to cause a random deviation when the ball bounces. Practitioners are known as ''seam bowlers'' or seamers. Seam bowling is generally classed as a subtype of fast bowling, although the bowling speeds at which seam can be a factor include medium-pace bowling. From their first match in 2006 to their final match in 2008, seventeen players represented the Sint Maarten national cricket team in Twenty20 (T20) matches in the Stanford 20/20. A Twenty20 is a cricket match between two representative teams of one twenty over innings per side. Sint Maarten is first recorded fielding a representative team in 2000. In regional domestic cricket, Sint Maarten plays as part of the Leeward Islands cricket team, which holds first-class, List A (neither of which Sint Maarten has ever held) and Twenty20 status. John Florent (born 13 February 1977) is a West Indian cricketer. Florent is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm slow-medium. In February 2006, the United States Virgin Islands were invited to take part in the 2006 Stanford 20/20, whose matches held official Twenty20 status. Florent made two appearances in the tournament, in a preliminary round victory against Sint Maarten and in a first-round defeat against St Vincent and the Grenadines. Against St Maarten he wasn't required to bat, while with the ball he took the wickets of Lionel Ritchie and Marlon Brutus to finish with figures of 2/18 from four overs. Against St Vincent and the Grenadines he was dismissed for a single run by Nixon McLean, while with the ball he bowled two wicketless overs which cost 16 runs. In cricket, an over consists of six legal deliveries bowled from one end of a cricket pitch to the player batting at the other end, almost always by a single bowler. A maiden over is an over in which no runs are scored that count against the bowler (so leg byes and byes may be scored as they are not counted against the bowler). A wicket maiden is a maiden over in which a wicket is also taken. Similarly, double and triple wicket maidens are when two and three wickets are taken in a maiden over.
