Marius Könkkölä
Marius Nooa Könkkölä (born 31 October 2003) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Veikkausliiga club SJK. Early years Born in Espoo, Könkkölä started playing football in KulPS in Kulosaari, Helsinki at the age of 5. One year later, his family moved to Katajanokka and he joined SAPA. Two years later, he moved to renowned Käpylän Pallo youth academy. In 2014, he started playing in HJK youth sector. Könkkölä had trials with Aston Villa, Genk and PSV, before accepting an offer from Genk and moving to Belgium in the early 2020. Club career AC Oulu After two years in the Genk academy, Könkkölä returned to Finland and signed a two-year deal with Veikkausliiga side AC Oulu on 31 December 2021. His 2022 season was incomplete as he suffered an injury, and could not establish his place in the starting line-up, mainly playing rotational minutes off the bench. Kulosaari
Kulosaari () is an island and an East Helsinki suburb in Helsinki, Finland. It is also the 42nd neighbourhood of the city. Construction of villas on the island started in the beginning of the 20th century, and a bridge from Sörnäinen was opened in 1919. Kulosaari was an independent municipality since 1922 until 1946, when it was merged to Helsinki. Kulosaari is home to 3,700 people (2003), and has a size of . Kakkonen
Kakkonen or II divisioona is the fourth level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. Until the end of 2023, ''Kakkonen'' was the third-highest level in Finland, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kakkonen also dropped down one level in the league pyramid. The new fourth-tier Kakkonen is divided to three groups, each consisting of 10 teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen ( Finnish for 'Number Two'; ). 2023 Veikkausliiga
The 2023 Veikkausliiga was the 93rd season of top-tier football in Finland, which takes place from April to November. The winners ( HJK, their fourth successive title win and thirty-third overall) qualified for the Champions League first qualifying round. The 2023 Finnish Cup winners (Ilves) qualified for the Conference League second qualifying round. The second-placed team (KuPS) and Conference League play-off winners ( VPS) qualified for the Conference League first qualifying round. The eleventh-placed team (Mariehamn) qualified for the Veikkausliiga play-off, winning to retain their place in the league. The bottom-placed team ( KTP) were relegated to the 2024 Ykkösliiga. Ricardo Duarte (born 1980)
Ricardo Filipe Lima Duarte (born 12 February 1980) is a Portuguese football manager, who most recently managed Finnish club FC Lahti in Veikkausliiga. Coaching career Duarte has worked as an assistant professor in the University of Lisbon, teaching football in the Faculty of Human Motricity. He worked also as an assistant coach of Primeira Liga club Vitória de Setúbal in the 2016–17 season. Duarte moved to Finland in 2018 and worked as an assistant coach of Petri Vuorinen in Vaasan Palloseura (VPS). Later in the Autumn 2018, he was named the training director of the Football Association of Finland. On 4 August 2020, Duarte was appointed the head coach of IF Gnistan in Finnish second-tier Ykkönen. In October 2021, Duarte was named the new manager of Veikkausliiga club AC Oulu, after the sacking of Jyrki Ahola.
