Ricardo Duarte (born 1980)
Ricardo Filipe Lima Duarte (born 12 February 1980) is a Portuguese football manager, who most recently managed Finnish club FC Lahti in Veikkausliiga. Coaching career Duarte has worked as an assistant professor in the University of Lisbon, teaching football in the Faculty of Human Motricity. He worked also as an assistant coach of Primeira Liga club Vitória de Setúbal in the 2016–17 season. Duarte moved to Finland in 2018 and worked as an assistant coach of Petri Vuorinen in Vaasan Palloseura (VPS). Later in the Autumn 2018, he was named the training director of the Football Association of Finland. On 4 August 2020, Duarte was appointed the head coach of IF Gnistan in Finnish second-tier Ykkönen. In October 2021, Duarte was named the new manager of Veikkausliiga club AC Oulu, after the sacking of Jyrki Ahola. Barcelos, Portugal
Barcelos () is a city and a municipality in Braga District in the Minho Province, in the north of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 120,391, in an area of 378.90 km2. 2024 Veikkausliiga
The 2024 Veikkausliiga was the 94th season of top-tier football in Finland, which takes place from April to November. Veikkaus was the league's sponsor. Teams The league consisted of twelve teams; ten teams remaining from the previous season, and two teams promoted from the Ykkönen. HJK entered the season as defending champions (for the fourth consecutive season). Team changes EIF were promoted as champions of the 2023 Ykkönen (returning to the top flight after a 90-year absence), replacing the bottom-placed 2023 Veikkausliiga team ( KTP, relegated after a single-year stint in top flight). Ykkönen runners-up Gnistan were also promoted (marking their debut in the top flight) after fifth-placed Veikkausliiga team Honka were demoted due to bankruptcy, replacing them in the league. Fotbollsföreningen Jaro (''Jakobstads Rostfria''), commonly known simply as Jaro, is a Finnish professional football club based in the bilingual town of Jakobstad. The club currently plays in Veikkausliiga, the top tier in Finland. History Jaro was founded on December 18, 1965 by football enthusiasts working at Oy Jakobstads Rostfria Ab, which became the club’s first sponsor. Jaro rose through the Finnish football divisions, earning promotion to Finland’s top tier for the first time in 1988 by beating MyPa in a playoff game for direct promotion (3–2 on penalties). The club was relegated after one season but returned in 1991 and remained in Veikkausliiga until 1998. Jaro finished 5th in 1995 and played in the Intertoto Cup in 1996. Toni Lindberg
Toni Lindberg (born 23 September 1985) is a Finnish football manager and former professional football player. Playing career As a player, Lindberg started his senior career in 2002 with Elimäen Villisiat in the sixth-tier Vitonen. He has played in his native Finland also for Valkealan Kajo, FC Kuusankoski in lower divisions and for MyPa in top-tier Veikkausliiga, before joining Mash'al Mubarek in Uzbekistan Super League in January 2012. He has also played for Alta IF in the second-tier in Norway. Coaching career After his playing career, Lindberg has been a youth and assistant coach of Sudet and FC Lahti. Liga 3 (Portugal)
The Liga 3 is the third-level football league in the Portuguese football league system, starting in 2021–22. It is a semiprofessional national league organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The creation of this league is part of a restructuring of the Portuguese third tier, with Campeonato de Portugal, which saw the number of teams reduced, being relegated to fourth tier and the top teams competing there advancing to this new competition. The 2023 Finnish Cup was the 69th season of the Finnish Cup football competition. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 Conference League second qualifying round. Ilves won the cup on 30 September 2023 with a 2–1 win over Honka, their fourth Finnish Cup win. Calendar Format The cup was played as a one legged knockout tournament. Tampereen Ilves (; Finnish for "Lynx"; ), commonly known as Ilves, is a Finnish professional football club based in Tampere. They currently play in the Veikkausliiga, the highest level of professional football in Finland. History The history of Ilves football is long and somewhat convoluted. The club was founded in 1931 and played its first official football matches in the following year, playing in the local city and district leagues. The young club found it difficult to recruit exprienced players, however, and schoolboys who at the time made up the bulk of the membership often spent their summers in the country and were thus unavailable for matches.
