Marina Maximilian Blumin
Marina Maximilian Blumin (; born 15 December 1987), known professionally as Marina Maximilian, is an Israeli singer-songwriter and actress. She was the runner-up on the fifth season of the reality music competition show ''Kokhav Nolad''. Early life Blumin was born in Dnipropetrovsk, Soviet Union (now Ukraine) on 15 December 1987. At the age of three, she immigrated to Israel with her parents. The family lived with friends in Ramat Gan before settling in the Pardes Katz neighbourhood of Bnei Brak. From a young age, Blumin studied piano with her mother, Ella, a classical pianist, and sang in a choir. She later went to the conservatory where her mother taught. Blumin graduated from Ironi Alef High School in Tel Aviv. She began performing at jazz clubs at the age of fifteen, after pianist Rick Birman took her under his wing. Alexander Penn
Alexander Penn (, ; 14 February 1906 – 19 April 1972) was an Israeli poet. Biography Avraham (Alexander) Pepliker-Stern (later Penn) was born in Yakymivka, Russian Empire. According to one version of his biography, his father, Yosef Stern, ran a heder (a Jewish religious school for young boys) and taught Hebrew. As a youth, Penn was a boxer. He moved to Moscow in 1920, to study cinema, and published his first poems in Russian that year. In 1927, he immigrated to Mandatory Palestine. He worked as a boxing trainer in Tel Aviv, as well as a farm hand, a construction worker and a guard. In Russia, Yosef Stern had changed the family name to Pepliker to avoid military service. Penn's created a nom de plume by taking the "peh" from Pepliker and the final "nun" from Stern. Yossi Sassi (; born 5 February 1975) is an Israeli guitarist and producer who merges traditional and contemporary music. He is the inventor of the "bouzoukitara" musical instrument. He is known for pioneering oriental rock, as well as being the main composer, arranger, and co-founder of Orphaned Land, an Israeli progressive metal band formed in 1991.
