Marie-Paule Blé (born 6 July 1998) is a French taekwondo practitioner. She won a bronze medal in middleweight at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships, after being defeated by Lee Da-bin in the semifinal. Taekwondo
Taekwondo (; ; ) is a Korean martial art and combat sport involving primarily kicking techniques and punching. "Taekwondo" can be translated as ''tae'' ("strike with foot"), ''kwon'' ("strike with hand"), and ''do'' ("the art or way"). In addition to its five tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit, the sport requires three physical skills: ''poomsae'' (, Form), ''kyorugi'' (, Sparring) and ''gyeokpa'' (, Breaking Technique). Poomsae are patterns that demonstrate a range of kicking, punching and blocking techniques, kyorugi involves the kind of sparring seen in the Olympics, and gyeokpa is the art of breaking wooden boards. World Taekwondo Championships
The World Taekwondo Championship is held every two years by World Taekwondo. In addition to the kyorugi (full contact fighting) Championships, there are also Para World Championships as well as Poomsae and Para Poomsae Championships held every two years. Competitions 1 Wuxi, China, was originally selected to host the 2021 World Taekwondo Championships. Due to the impact of the Global COVID-19 pandemic, Wuxi gave up hosting the World Taekwondo Championship. 2019 World Taekwondo Championships – Women's Middleweight
The women's middleweight is a competition featured at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships, and was held at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom on 15 and 16 May. Middleweights were limited to a maximum of 73 kilograms in body mass. Espinoza, three times Olympic medalist faced twenty-two years old Lee Da-bin from South Korea in the final who had never competed in a World Championships before. A body shot for Lee gave her an early 2–0 lead. Espinoza responded with a punch but Lee scored few more points to finish the first round 7–1. Lee carried on where she left off at the start of the second to finish it 14–2. In the third round Lee maintained her intensity and landed a number of shots to the body and head shots to win her first ever World Championships 22–2. European Taekwondo Championships
The European Taekwondo Championships are the European senior championships in Taekwondo, first held in Barcelona in 1976. The event is held every two years and is organized by the European Taekwondo Union, the continental affiliate of World Taekwondo, which organises and controls Olympic style taekwondo. Lee Da-bin
Lee Da-bin (; born 7 December 1996) is a South Korean taekwondo practitioner. She competes for South Korea mainly in middleweight category at international competitions. Lee Da-bin represented South Korea at the Asian Games in 2014 and 2018. She clinched a gold medal in the women's 62kg event during the 2014 Asian Games. Four years later, she clinched another gold medal in the women's +67kg event defeating Kazakhstani Cansel Deniz during the 2018 Asian Games. She became a world champion in the women's middleweight event at the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships. She represented South Korea at the 2020 Summer Olympics which also marked her debut appearance at the Olympics. She qualified to the women's 67 kg event final after a nail biting last second win over Britain's Bianca Walkden.
