Mariana Lobato
Mariana Lobato (born 23 December 1987) is a Portuguese paramedic and competitive sailor. She competed at the 2012 Olympics and she was a member of Támara Echegoyen's winning crew in the 2013 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship. She has competed in transatlantic sailing races. Life Lobato was born in Lisbon in 1987. Her family were in to the sport of sailing and by the age of eight she was on a boat. She used an Optimist dinghy and she competed in the under 16 category before she moved on to larger boats. Match racing became her speciality but she had sailed on the Olympic sailing classes of 470 dinghies, 49erFX, and Nacra 17. She studied in her home city at the in 2011, where she completed a degree in Advertising and Marketing. The Volvo Ocean 65 is a class of monohull racing yachts. It is the successor to the Volvo Open 70 yacht used in past editions of the Volvo Ocean Race. It was announced at a conference in Lorient, France, during a stopover in the 2011–12 Volvo Ocean Race. The yacht was used for the 2014–2015 and the 2017–2018 editions and is planned to be used for the 2023 edition. The 2014–2015 Volvo Ocean Race was the first one-design event. The IMOCA ("Open 60"), is a 60ft development class monohull sailing yacht administered by the International Monohull Open Classes Association, International Monohull Open Class Association (IMOCA). The class pinnacle event are single-handed sailing, single or two person ocean races, such as the Route du Rhum and the Vendée Globe and this has been intimately linked to design development within the class. Class description This class is of "open" design, this means the boat is measurement controlled and therefore designers have freedom within the rules. The Ocean Race 2022–23 was the 14th edition of the round-the-world The Ocean Race. It started in Alicante, Spain. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the organizers to delay the race planned for 2021–22. Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team (formerly Dongfeng Race Team) is a Volvo Ocean 65 yacht.
