Marcy Teodoro
Marcelino "Marcy" Reyes Teodoro (born August 2, 1970) is a Filipino politician and former publisher who is the representative-elect for Marikina's first district. He previously held the seat from 2007 to 2016 and has served as the mayor of Marikina since 2016. Born in Santa Elena, Marikina, Teodoro graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy at the University of the Philippines Diliman and pursued graduate studies at the Ateneo de Manila University. Teodoro entered politics in 1992 after being elected to the Marikina City Council. He was subsequently elected to the Philippine House of Representatives in 2007, serving three terms and ending his tenure in 2016 upon being term-limited. Teodoro sought the mayoralty of Marikina in 2016 and defeated incumbent mayor Del de Guzman; he would be re-elected in 2019 and 2022. Marikina
Marikina (), officially the City of Marikina (), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, highly urbanized city in the Metro Manila, National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 456,159 people. Located along the eastern border of Metro Manila, Marikina is the main gateway of Metro Manila to Rizal (province), Rizal and Quezon (province), Quezon provinces through Marikina–Infanta Highway. Marjorie Ann Teodoro
Marjorie Ann "Maan" Ang Teodoro (born January 11, 1981) is a Filipino politician who is the mayor-elect of Marikina. Before being elected mayor, she had served as the representative for Marikina's first district since 2022. Educated at the University of Santo Tomas, Teodoro taught at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. She entered politics in 2019 as the first nominee of the Adhikain Tinaguyod ng Kooperatiba (Ating-Koop) Partylist, which failed to secure a seat in the House of Representatives. In 2022, she was elected as the representative for Marikina's first district as a member of the United Nationalist Alliance, succeeding longtime mayor Bayani Fernando. Her term as a representative has been characterized by legislation related to health and education. Aquilino Martin "Koko" de la Llana Pimentel III (; born January 20, 1964) is a Filipino politician and lawyer who has served as a senator of the Philippines since 2011. He has served as Senate minority leader since 2022 and previously served as the senate president from 2016 to 2018. The eldest son of former senate president Nene Pimentel, the younger Pimentel is the first child of a previous Senate president to hold the office. The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is a tax-exempt, government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) of the Philippines that provides health insurance to the country. It was created on 1995 to implement universal health coverage in the Philippines, and is attached to the Department of Health. In the Philippines, the Office of the Ombudsman () is the constitutional body responsible for investigating and prosecuting Philippine government officials accused of crimes, especially graft and corruption. 2019 Marikina Local Elections
Local elections were held at Marikina on May 13, 2019, as part of the Philippine general election. Held concurrently with the national elections, the electorate voted to elect a mayor, a vice mayor, sixteen city council members and two district representatives to congress. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2019, for a three-year-long term. 2016 Marikina Local Elections
Local elections were held in Marikina on May 9, 2016, as part of the Philippine general election. Held concurrently with the national elections, the electorate voted to elect a mayor, a vice mayor, sixteen city council members and two district representatives to congress. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2016, for a three-year-long term. 181,019 out of 217,711 registered voters voted in this election.
