Marikina (), officially the City of Marikina (), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, highly urbanized city in the Metro Manila, National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 456,159 people. Located along the eastern border of Metro Manila, Marikina is the main gateway of Metro Manila to Rizal (province), Rizal and Quezon (province), Quezon provinces through Marikina–Infanta Highway. It is bordered on the west by Quezon City, to the south by Pasig and Cainta, Rizal, Cainta, to the north by San Mateo, Rizal, San Mateo, and to the east by Antipolo, the capital of Rizal (province), Rizal province. Marcelino Teodoro
Marcelino "Marcy" Reyes Teodoro (born August 2, 1970) is a Filipino politician and former publisher who is the representative-elect for Marikina's first district. He previously held the seat from 2007 to 2016 and has served as the mayor of Marikina since 2016. Born in Santa Elena, Marikina, Teodoro graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy at the University of the Philippines Diliman and pursued graduate studies at the Ateneo de Manila University. Teodoro entered politics in 1992 after being elected to the Marikina City Council. He was subsequently elected to the Philippine House of Representatives in 2007, serving three terms and ending his tenure in 2016 upon being term-limited. Marjorie Ann "Maan" Ang Teodoro (born January 11, 1981) is a Filipino politician who is the mayor-elect of Marikina. Before being elected mayor, she had served as the representative for Marikina's first district since 2022. Educated at the University of Santo Tomas, Teodoro taught at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. She entered politics in 2019 as the first nominee of the Adhikain Tinaguyod ng Kooperatiba (Ating-Koop) Partylist, which failed to secure a seat in the House of Representatives. Stella Luz Alabastro Quimbo (born Stella Luz Fagela Alabastro; November 23, 1969) is a Filipino politician and academic who has served as the representative for Marikina's second district since 2019. She previously served as a commissioner of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) from 2016 until her resignation in 2019. She was a mayoral candidate in the 2025 Marikina local elections. The Marikina Sports Center, also known as Marikina Sports Park and formerly known as Rodriguez Sports Center, is a sports complex located in Marikina, at the corner of Shoe Avenue and Sumulong Highway in Metro Manila, Philippines. Kapitan Moy Building, also known as Cultural Center of Marikina situated in Marikina, Metro Manila, the Philippines, is the 200-year-old house of Don Laureano Guevarra (July 4, 1851 – December 30, 1891), known as the founder of the Marikina shoe industry. Rommel "Kambal" Santos Acuña (born March 7, 1973) is a Filipino politician who has served as the acting mayor of Marikina since March 2025, after the Office of the Ombudsman suspended Marcelino Teodoro from office. Marion Santos Andres (born July 25, 1958) is a Filipino politician, physician, and retired military doctor who has served as vice mayor of Marikina since 2019 under Mayor Marcelino Teodoro.
