Marco Alonso Verde Álvarez (born 11 February 2002) is a Mexican Boxing, boxer. Career Verde won the gold medal in the 2023 Pan American Games in Boxing in the Boxing at the 2023 Pan American Games – Men's 71 kg, 71 kg category. He also won the silver medal in the welterweight category at the 2024 Summer Olympics after losing the final bout against Uzbek Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev. Mazatlán
Mazatlán () is a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding '' municipio'', known as the Mazatlán Municipality. It is located at on the Pacific coast, across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula. ''Mazatlán'' is a Nahuatl word meaning "place of deer". The city was founded in 1531 by an army of Spaniards and indigenous people. By the mid-19th century, a large group of immigrants arrived from Germany. Over time, Mazatlán developed into a commercial seaport, importing equipment for the nearby gold and silver mines. It served as the capital of Sinaloa from 1859 to 1873. The German settlers also influenced the local music, banda, with some genres being an alteration of Bavarian folk music. The settlers also established the Pacifico Brewery on March 14, 1900. Lewis Richardson (boxer)
Lewis Richardson is an English boxer who as an amateur won a bronze medal in the 71 kg category at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He also won a silver medal at the 2022 European Championships and competed at the 2019 World Championships. Career Born in Colchester, Richardson began boxing at a young age as a means to keep fit while playing football. After winning the 2012 National School Boy Championships he decided to focus on boxing. In 2018 Richardson was selected to box for Team GB. A few months after the selection he suffered three stress fractures in his back, leaving him out of action for most of the year. After recovering from the injury he won gold medals at the 2018 GB Championships and 2019 Olympic Test Event, securing him a reserve spot for the European Olympic Qualification Event.
