Marco Rodriguez (soccer)
Marco Rodriguez (born January 7, 1992) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a midfielder. He has also played at the international level with the Canada national futsal team. Career Early career Rodriguez played at the youth level in Argentina with Club Atlético Platense from 2009 until 2013. After a successful trial with Defensor Sporting in 2013, he was accepted into the club's reserve squad. Following a year in Uruguay, he returned to Canada in 2014 and became involved with Toronto FC Academy in League1 Ontario. In his debut season with TFC Academy, he helped the club win the Inter-Provincial Cup after defeating CS Longueuil. Asia In 2015, he played abroad in Asia in Macau's Liga de Elite with Windsor Arch Ka I. His tenure with the club was short as he departed for the last portion of the season. United States National Futsal Team
The United States national futsal team represents the United States at international competitions. It is governed by the United States Soccer Federation and affiliated with CONCACAF. The U.S. Futsal Federation was founded in 1981 and the first international futsal match played by the U.S. National Futsal Team was in May 1984 in Nanaimo, Canada where the United States won, 6–5. The first international futsal match in the United States was held in December, 1985, at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. The U.S. select team, defeated Australia national futsal team, Australia, 9–5. 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship
The 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship was the 6th edition of the CONCACAF Futsal Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship organised by CONCACAF for the men's national teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean region. The tournament was held in San José, Costa Rica between 8–14 May 2016. A total of eight teams played in the tournament. Same as previous editions, the tournament acted as the CONCACAF qualifiers for the FIFA Futsal World Cup. Kyriakos "Kyt" Selaidopoulos (born February 26, 1978) is a Canadian soccer and futsal coach who serves as an assistant coach of Forge FC and head coach of the Canadian national futsal team. As a player, he played in the USISL D-3 Pro League, National Professional Soccer League, USL A-League, Canadian Professional Soccer League, and the Major Indoor Soccer League. Playing career Selaidopoulos began his career in 1995 in the National Professional Soccer League with the Chicago Power. Futsal Canadian Championship is the futsal year end national club competition hosted by Canada Soccer. Its first year featured two clubs from Quebec and Ontario in 2015. The competition is under the authority of the Canada Soccer Association and adheres to the FIFA Futsal Laws Of The Game. The inaugural season was played in 2015 at Centre d'éducatif des adultes Outremont, Quebec, Outremont with only two clubs participating: Futsal Club Toronto and Albiceleste.
