2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship
The 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship was the 6th edition of the CONCACAF Futsal Championship, the quadrennial international futsal championship organised by CONCACAF for the men's national teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean region. The tournament was held in San José, Costa Rica between 8–14 May 2016. A total of eight teams played in the tournament. Same as previous editions, the tournament acted as the CONCACAF qualifiers for the FIFA Futsal World Cup. The top four teams of the tournament qualified for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia as the CONCACAF representatives. Champions Costa Rica, runners-up Panama, third-placed Guatemala and fourth-placed Cuba qualified for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup as the CONCACAF representatives. 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship
The 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship was the fourth edition of the main international futsal tournament of the North and Central America and the Caribbean region. It took place in Guatemala City, Guatemala from 3 to 8 June 2008, with the Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG as the only venue. Hosts Guatemala won the tournament after defeating the United States in semifinals and Cuba in the final. It was the first international futsal title won by Guatemala. The tournament also acted as a qualifying tournament for the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil, with second and third placed teams Cuba and the U.S. joining Guatemala as the qualified teams. The Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (Central American Football Union), more commonly known by the acronym UNCAF, represents the national football teams of Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
