Marc Pfister
Marc Otida Pfister (born 26 September 1989) is a Swiss–Filipino curler from Schalunen. Curling career As a junior curler, Pfister played third for Switzerland (skipped by David Bartschiger) at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, where they finished sixth. Pfister competed at the 2015 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, as skip for the Swiss national curling team. The Swiss team had a great start at the tournament, but lost their last five games. These last five consecutive losses placed the young Swiss team at 5–6 after the round robin, finishing 7th. Also that season, Pfister and partner Carole Howald competed at the 2015 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, placing in 13th overall. Sven Michel joined the team in 2015 to skip the rink. Sumiswald
Sumiswald is a municipality in the district of the Emmental administrative district in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. It is mostly known for being the manufacturing location of the Swiss railway clock. History Sumiswald is first mentioned in 1225 as ''Smoldeswalt''. Sven Michel (born 30 March 1988) is a Swiss curler from Matten. He won a gold medal for Switzerland at the 2013 European Curling Championships and skipped Switzerland at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career As a junior curler, Michel won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Junior Curling Championships, playing third for Christian von Gunten. Michel won a silver medal at the 2010 European Mixed Curling Championship, playing second for Claudio Pätz. Later in the season, he and partner Alina Pätz won the gold medal at the 2011 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. National (curling)
The National, currently referred to as the Boost National for sponsorship reasons, is curling tournament that is one of the six events that are part of the Grand Slam of Curling tour, and one of its four "majors". Beginning in 2022, the event features 16 men's and 16 women's teams. The top 15 teams on the World Curling Federation's Order of Merit qualify, plus a "sponsors exemption". The 16 teams are divided into four groups of four teams, and the top eight teams overall advance to a single elimination playoff. In 2021, the event was a 16 team triple knockout event before the 8 team playoff. From 2015 to 2019, the event had 15 teams divided into three groups of five teams. 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championships
The 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championships were held from October 29 to November 4 at the Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, British Columbia. The event was used to qualify teams for the 2024 World Curling Championships. Both men's and women's events consisted of an A Division and B Division. In the men's competition, the top five teams from the A Division (Canada, South Korea, Japan, the United States, New Zealand) secured qualification for the 2024 World Men's Curling Championship, which will be held in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
