Sven Michel (curler)
Sven Michel (born 30 March 1988) is a Swiss curler from Matten. He won a gold medal for Switzerland at the 2013 European Curling Championships and skipped Switzerland at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career As a junior curler, Michel won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Junior Curling Championships, playing third for Christian von Gunten. Michel won a silver medal at the 2010 European Mixed Curling Championship, playing second for Claudio Pätz. Later in the season, he and partner Alina Pätz won the gold medal at the 2011 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. Marc Pfister
Marc Otida Pfister (born 26 September 1989) is a Swiss–Filipino curler from Schalunen. Curling career As a junior curler, Pfister played third for Switzerland (skipped by David Bartschiger) at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, where they finished sixth. Pfister competed at the 2015 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, as skip for the Swiss national curling team. The Swiss team had a great start at the tournament, but lost their last five games. These last five consecutive losses placed the young Swiss team at 5–6 after the round robin, finishing 7th. Steffen Walstad (born February 10, 1989 in Oppdal) is a Norwegian curler from Oppdal. He currently skips his own team. Career Juniors Walstad played in three World Junior Curling Championships, from 2008 to 2010 inclusive. Kim Soo-hyuk (born May 5, 1984) is a Korean curler from Gyeongi-do. He currently skips the Gyeongbuk Athletic Association curling team out of Uiseong. Career At just 17 years old, Kim was a member of the Korean team at the 2001 Pacific Curling Championships, playing third for the team, skipped by Lee Dong-keun. The team finished fourth. Brendan Michael Bottcher (born December 19, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Bottcher is a three-time provincial men's champion, and was the skip of the 2021 Canadian men's championship team, having led Alberta to victory at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier. Born in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Bottcher enjoyed a successful junior career winning the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships. Peter Vincent de Cruz (born 4 January 1990) is a Swiss curler. He is an Olympic bronze medallist for Switzerland, having skipped his Swiss rink to a third place finish at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. While de Cruz is the skip of his team, he throws second stones. As a junior, De Cruz skipped the Swiss team at both the 2010 and 2011 World Junior Curling Championships. Rasmus Stjerne Hansen (born 26 May 1988 in Hvidovre) is a retired Danish curler. He is a former world junior champion and current Danish champion. He curls out of the Hvidovre Curling Club. Career Stjerne has participated in five World Junior Championships. He played as third for Kenneth Jørgensen in 2004 and 2005, finishing outside of the playoffs in both years.
