Manolsko Konare
Manolsko Konare ( bg, Манолско Kонаре) is a village in southern Bulgaria, in Maritsa Municipality, Plovdiv Province. The population of the village is 632 people as of June 2020. Geography Manolsko Konare is located in the Upper Thracian Plain, 21 kilometers away from Plovdiv. It is situated at an elevation of 199 meters and has a total area of 1348,5 hectares. History The first written sources found about the village date from around the year 1700. The origins of the settlement first appeared in the area "Yurtishta" which is 2 kilometers west of the current location of the village. During the 19th century, the majority of the village's population dies due to the plague epidemic. Infrastructure The church in the village was built in 1903, and suffered significant damage during the 1928 Chirpan–Plovdiv earthquakes. Maritsa Municipality ( obshtina) is located in the Plovdiv Province, southern Bulgaria on the northern bank of the Maritsa River. It has 30,676 inhabitants and consists only of villages. The Upper Thracian Plain ( bg, Горнотракийска низина, ''Gornotrakiyska nizina'') constitutes the northern part of the historical region of Thrace. 1928 Chirpan–Plovdiv Earthquakes
The Chirpan–Plovdiv earthquakes struck central Bulgaria, south of the Sredna Gora on two separate days in April 1928. The event consisted of two main earthquakes that had a moment magnitude of 7.1 (), occurring four days apart on the 14th and 18th respectively. Major damage was reported, with over 70,000 buildings collapsing. An estimated 127 people died in both earthquakes, with many thousands affected in its aftermath. The two powerful earthquakes could also be felt in Greece, where they also caused significant damage. The cost of damage totaled 5 billion Bulgarian lev. Yasno Pole
Yasno Pole ( bg, Ясно поле) is a village in Southern Bulgaria, located in Plovdiv Province, Maritsa Municipality. As of the Bulgarian 2020 June census, the village had a population of 628 people. Geography Yasno Pole Village is located in the Upper Thracian Plain, 24 kilometers to the northeast of Plovdiv. The elevation above sea level of the village is 144 meters. The approximate land mass is 1080 hectares. History Yasno Pole was established in 1887 under the original name of "Chakure". The first written sources that mention the village date back to 1887 in a National newspaper. In 1934, the village was renamed from Chakure to Yasno Pole, the name it bears now.
