Josvainiai Eldership
Josvainiai Eldership ( lt, Josvainių seniūnija) is a Lithuanian eldership, located in the southern part of Kėdainiai District Municipality. Eldership was created from the Josvainiai ''selsovet'' in 1993. Geography The territory of Josvainiai Eldership is located mostly in the Nevėžis Plain, but the western edges are in the East Samogitian Plateau. Kėdainiai () is one of the oldest cities in Lithuania. It is located north of Kaunas on the banks of the Nevėžis River. First mentioned in the 1372 Livonian Chronicle of Hermann de Wartberge, its population is 23,667. Its old town dates to the 17th century. The city is the administrative centre of the Kėdainiai District Municipality. The geographical centre of the Lithuanian Republic is in the nearby village of Ruoščiai, located in the eldership of Dotnuva. Aristava
Aristava (formerly ''Lukšiakaimis'', russian: Орвистово, Лукшакаймис, pl, Orwistów) is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 489 people. It is located from Kėdainiai, next to the Bubliai Reservoir on the Obelis river, by the Malčius and the Malčius 2nd rivulets. There is a big road junction: the A8 highway, the road to Cinkiškiai via Kėdainiai (KK229), the road to Ukmergė (KK145). There is a library, a former school, a stock farm. History The Aristava manor of duke Algimantas has been known since 1371 when it was mentioned by Hermann von Wartberge. The former manor had been located in Aristavėlė but the last palace building was transferred to the Museum of Lithuanian Folk Life. Pernarava-Šaravai Forest
The Pernarava-Šaravai Forest ( lt, Pernaravos–Šaravų miškai) is a forest in Kėdainiai District Municipality, central Lithuania, located west from Josvainiai. It covers an area of . It consists of smaller forests: the Šaravai Forest, the Sviliai Forest, the Pernarava Forest, the Juodgiris. Most of the forest is drained by the Šušvė tributaries (the Liedas, the Vikšrupis, the Putnupys) while the western part is drained by the Aluona and its tributary the Sakuona. As of 2005, 50 % of the area was covered by birch, 20 % by spruce, 8 % by aspen, 8 % by ash, 4 % by oak, 9 % by black alder, 1 % by white alder tree groups. The fauna of the forest consists of wild boar, roe deer, moose, red fox, raccoon dog, pine marten, badger, hare, squirrel, beaver, muskrat, also there are hazel grouses, black storks, Eurasian woodcocks, lesser spotted eagles, northern goshawks. Kunioniai
Kunioniai (''Kunionys'', formerly russian: Куняны, pl, Kuniany) is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 321 people. It is located from Josvainiai, nearby the Šušvė river, by the Josvainiai- Kampai II road. There are library, agriculture companies, farms. Former Jasnagurka manor is located next to Kunioniai. History Kunioniai is known since 1593. It developed alongside the ancient road to Kaunas and probably belonged to the Josvainiai manor. There was a small Jewish community which hosted a tavern, distillated vodka and baked cakes. There was a watermill on the Vikšrupis river and four wooden crosses made by Vincas Svirskis (did not survive till nowadays). The first school was opened in 1929. Eastern European Summer Time
Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. It is used as a summer daylight saving time in some European and Middle Eastern countries, which makes it the same as Arabia Standard Time, East Africa Time, and Moscow Time. The territory of Lithuania is divided into 10 counties ( Lithuanian: singular ''apskritis'', plural ''apskritys''), all named after their capitals.
