Majoy Baron
Mary Joy "Majoy" Dela Cruz Baron (born December 12, 1995) is a Filipino volleyball player. She attended college at De La Salle University and played for its volleyball team. She is currently playing for the PLDT High Speed Hitters playing as a middle blocker. Baron is also part of the Philippine National Women's Volleyball Team. Personal life Baron originates from Concepcion, Tarlac, where she attended Concepcion Catholic School. Aside from sports, she also works as a model. Career Baron was a member of the DLSU Lady Spikers which won the women's UAAP Volleyball Championship from year 2016 to 2018. Baron won the UAAP Season 78 Best Blocker award in April 2016. The following year, she won the Most Valuable Player award for UAAP Season 79. In her last playing year in the collegiate ranks, she led the squad as its team captain to their 3rd consecutive championship. Concepcion, Tarlac
Concepcion, officially the Municipality of Concepcion (; ), is a municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Tarlac, Philippines. The 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix is the inaugural edition of the ASEAN Grand Prix, a new annual international women's volleyball tournament which is contested by 4 national teams that are the members of the Southeast Asian Volleyball Association (SAVA), the sport's regional governing body affiliated to Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). UAAP Season 78 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The UAAP Board decided to move the high school volleyball tournaments from 2nd semester to 1st semester due to the basketball juniors tournament being moved from the 1st semester to 2nd semester. 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference
The 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference was the fifteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its six conference as a professional league. The tournament was originally scheduled to start on June 6, 2023, however, it was moved to June 27, 2023, due to the Philippines women's national volleyball team competing at the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup. This conference introduced three debuting teams in the league — Farm Fresh Foxies and Quezon City Gerflor Defenders as newly formed teams, and the return of Foton Tornadoes in the Filipino volleyball scene after the original team was rebranded as Chery Tiggo Crossovers in 2020.
