Mahadeva Of Devagiri
Mahadeva (IAST: Mahā-deva, r. c. 1261-1270 CE) was a ruler of the Seuna (Yadava) dynasty of Deccan region in India. He succeeded his brother Krishna on the throne. Mahadeva defeated the Shilaharas of Kolhapur, and suppressed a rebellion by his Kadamba feudatories. He invaded the neighbouring kingdoms, but was forced to retreat by the Kakatiya queen Rudrama and the Hoysala king Narasimha II. The Yadava records also credit him with other military successes, but these claims may be exaggerated. Early life Mahadeva was a younger brother of his predecessor Krishna. Their father Jaitugi II seems to have died before their grandfather Simhana, because of which Krishna succeeded Simhana. Mahadeva assisted his brother in the administration, as attested by an inscription as well as the text ''Vedanta-kalpataru''. Arunachalam Mahadeva
Arunachalam Mahadeva, KCMG (; 5 October 1885 – 15 April 1966) was a Ceylon Tamil lawyer, politician and diplomat. He served as Minister of Home Affairs (1942-1946) and High Commissioner to India (1948-1949). Early life and family Mahadeva was born on 5 October 1885 in Matara in southern Ceylon. He was the son of P. Arunachalam, a leading civil servant, and Sornambal. He was educated at Royal College, Colombo where he won many prizes including the Turnour Prize. After school he joined Christ's College, Cambridge, graduating with honours degree in mathematics. Mahadeva married Sivakami, daughter of M. Mootatamby, in 1918. Deshamanya Balakumara Mahadeva (; 29 October 1921 – 29 November 2013; commonly known as Baku Mahadeva) was a leading Sri Lankan Tamil civil servant. Early life and family Mahadeva was born on 29 October 1921. He was the son of Arunachalam Mahadeva and Sivahamy Ammal. He was educated at Royal College, Colombo where he was classmates of C. A. Coorey. After school he obtained BA and MA degrees in mathematics from the University of London. Mahadeva married Sundari, daughter of Sega Theagarajah. They had two children, Kumar Mahadeva and Isvari. Career Mahadeva lectured in mathematics at the University of Ceylon, Colombo before joining the Ceylon Civil Service in January 1945. Mahadeva (Kakatiya Dynasty)
Mahadeva (r. ) was a ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty which ruled in the present-day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regions of India. He died in battle during an invasion of the neighbouring Seuna (Yadava) kingdom. The Yadavas captured his son Ganapati, but later reinstated him on the Kakatiya throne. Early life Mahadeva was a son of the Kakatiya king Prola II, and a younger brother of his predecessor Rudra-deva. He had three other brothers: Harihara, Ganapati (not to be confused with his son), and Durggaraja (not to be confused with his uncle). Rudra-deva did not have any children, and appointed Mahadeva as his successor, as attested by the Khamdavalli inscription of Prataparudra. Mahadeva succeeded him on the throne in 1195-1196 CE. Mahādeva (; ) is a controversial figure who appears in various roles in the histories of the early Buddhist schools. Devanoora Mahadeva is an Indian writer and an intellectual, who writes in Kannada language. The Government of India conferred upon him the Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award. Known among literary circles to be a rebel, Mahadeva rejected to chair the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana twice and the Nrupatunga Award in 2010, citing his dissatisfaction that despite being the state's official language, Kannada is yet to be made the primary language of instruction in schools and colleges.
