Magenta Rose Marshall (born 14 December 1994) is an Australian politician who was elected as a Labor member for Rockingham in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly at the 2023 Rockingham state by-election. Early life and education Magenta Marshall was born on 14 December 1994 in East Fremantle, Western Australia to Janine Marie Wilders, public servant. Marshall grew up in single-parent household in Cooloongup living with her mum and later legally adopted by Barry Robert Wilders. She then purchased her first home with her husband in Waikiki in 2020. Marshall attended school at Tranby College and studied at Murdoch University. During her university studies, Magenta spent a semester abroad studying at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and volunteered her spare time to teach English at a local school. Electoral District Of Rockingham
Rockingham is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is located in the outer south-western suburbs of Perth. Rockingham has been held at all times by the Labor Party, and currently is held by Mark McGowan, the Premier of Western Australia. Geography The electorate is a compact, urban district centred on the coastal community of Rockingham, a satellite suburb to the south-west of Perth. The district also takes in the neighbouring suburbs of Peron, Shoalwater, Safety Bay, as well as parts of Cooloongup, East Rockingham and Waikiki. The district also includes Garden Island. David Michael (politician)
David Robert Michael (born 25 January 1980) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since the 2017 state election, representing Balcatta. Michael is the WA Parliament's first MP of Finnish descent. Michael worked for several state Labor MPs, and ran unsuccessfully for Churchlands in 2001. In 2005 he was elected to City of Stirling council, becoming its youngest ever member, aged 25. He served as deputy mayor from 2011 to 2013. Michael's current priorities as MP are upgrades to Balcatta Senior High School and Osborne Park Hospital and for the McGowan Government as is the Stephenson Avenue Extension. In March 2021, he was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary to the returned McGowan Labor Government, after having served as Government Whip since the 2017 election.
