Magda Gad
Magda Gad (born 17 October 1975 in Falun) is a Swedish war correspondent and Middle Eastern analyst who writes, photographs and films her stories. She has been a correspondent for the Swedish media outlet ''Expressen'' since 2015''.'' Gad came to international prominence in June 2016 by covering the assault on Mosul in Iraq, where she reported the war against ISIS. She has been reporting from Afghanistan since September 2018, and is one of the few western journalists who gained access to the Taliban before the Taliban's take over 2021. She stayed in Afghanistan during the take over and was never evacuated. She has continued to report from Afghanistan in 2022. Her focus is to shine a light on underreported regions and conflicts. Falun
Falun () is a city and the seat of Falun Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 37,291 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of Dalarna County. Falun forms, together with Borlänge, a metropolitan area with just over 100,000 inhabitants. Falun was originally famous for its copper mine, and is today an important service and industrial city even though the mine is closed (since 1992). Faluån is a river, flowing through the city, separating it into two sides. Falu copper mine is located on one of the sides which during many centuries was one of Sweden's main business. This side of the river was usually called "the mining side", where not many plants grew due to the toxic smoke which contaminated the soil. On the other side of the river, where the smoke did not reach, set many large villas, which made this side to be called "the delightful side". Honduras
Honduras, officially the Republic of Honduras, is a country in Central America. European Press Prize
The European Press Prize is an award programme for excellence in journalism across all 47 countries of Europe. It was founded in 2012 by seven European media foundations: The Guardian Foundation, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Jyllands-Posten Foundation, Politiken Foundation, Media Development Investment Fund, Vereniging Veronica and Stichting Democratie en Media. In 2015, The Irish Times Trust Limited joined as a member organisation, and Agora SA followed two years later. In 2020, the organisation Luminate became a member. European Newspaper Award is a design competition for European newspapers. The competition was founded and is organized by newspaper designer Norbert Küpper from Meerbusch, Germany.
