Mads Fuglede
Mads Fuglede (born 23 August 1971) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. He was elected into parliament in the 2019 Danish general election. Political career Fuglede first ran for parliament in the 2015 Danish general election, where he received 1,968 votes. This was not enough for him to get elected, although he became Venstre's primary substitute in the constituency. When Jakob Engel-Schmidt took leave on 5 October 2017, Fuglede acted as substitute member for the remainder of the term. He was elected into parliament in the 2019 election, where he received 3,622 votes. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. Jakob Engel-Schmidt (born 24 October 1983) is a Danish politician and Member of the Folketing from the Moderates. Since 15 December 2022 he has been Minister for Culture in the Frederiksen II Cabinet. Political career In the 2009 Danish local elections, he ran unsuccessfully in Rudersdal Municipality. He was a Venstre parliamentary candidate in the Lyngby constituency in the 2011 Danish general election and won 2,234 personal votes, but not enough to win a seat. Greater Copenhagen ( da, Københavns Omegn) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 18 June 2015 to elect the 179 members of the Folketing. 175 members were elected in the Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland.
