Jakob Engel-Schmidt
Jakob Engel-Schmidt (born 24 October 1983) is a Danish politician and Member of the Folketing from the Moderates. Since 15 December 2022 he has been Minister for Culture in the Frederiksen II Cabinet. Political career In the 2009 Danish local elections, he ran unsuccessfully in Rudersdal Municipality. He was a Venstre parliamentary candidate in the Lyngby constituency in the 2011 Danish general election and won 2,234 personal votes, but not enough to win a seat. The radio host endorsed him, calling him "an excellent liberal candidate". Culture Minister Of Denmark
The Minister for Culture of Denmark ( da, Kulturminister) is the Danish political minister office responsible for culture, head of the Ministry of Culture of Denmark. The political responsibility for culture, as well as church and education, was with the Kultus Minister from 1848 to 1916 when that post was split up into the posts of Education Minister and Church Minister. From 1916 the Church Minister had political responsibility for culture, until the post of Minister for Culture was created in 1961. A substitute is a political candidate who is not directly elected, but who succeeds a politician holding an elected office after that person ceases to hold the office due to, for example, resignation or death. General elections were held in Denmark on 15 September 2011 to elect the 179 members of the Folketing. Of those 179, 175 members were elected in Denmark, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The incumbent centre-right coalition led by Venstre lost power to a centre-left coalition led by the Social Democrats making Helle Thorning-Schmidt the country's first female Prime Minister. The Danish local elections of 2009 were held on 17 November 2009. Councils were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and the five regions. 2468 seats were contested in the municipal elections ( previous election: 2522 seats). 205 seats were contested in the regional elections. Frederiksen II Cabinet
The Frederiksen II Cabinet took office on 15 December 2022 and succeeded the Frederiksen I Cabinet following the 2022 Danish general election. Headed by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, it consists of the Social Democrats, Venstre, and the Moderates. It was announced on 13 December following a record 42 days of negotiations.
