The M35 is a short metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. The entire route is in the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Route The M35 begins at a junction with the R103 east of Vosloorus in the far southern part of Boksburg. It begins by going north-east as Heidelberg Road and turns north to fly over the M43 road (Barry Marais Road). It bypasses the suburbs of Dawn Park and Rondebult and reaches a junction with the R554 road (Van Dyk Road; North Boundary Road). It continues northwards, separating the eastern suburbs of Germiston from the western suburbs of Boksburg. From the R554 junction, the M35 goes northwards as Heidelberg Road, passing through the Elspark suburb, to fly over the N17 highway and reach a T-junction with Brug Street just east of the Elsburg suburb of Germiston. Reiger Park is a township situated in Boksburg in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established as Stirtonville after the Second World War when people influxed from rural areas seeking work on the gold mines. In 1963, due to the apartheid government's policy of separate development, the Black people were moved to Vosloorus, the Indians to Actonville and the coloured people were left to stay in Stirtonville, then renamed Reiger Park. The locals have given their own unofficial names to the different areas of Reiger Park, such as Jerusalem (due to the many churches in that area), Excuse Me (due to the houses being close together that neighbors say "bless you" when one sneezes), and Popcorn Valley (a new area developed in the 1990s with homes popping up so fast that they were likened to popcorn). The R554 is a Regional Route in Gauteng, South Africa. The road connects the southern suburbs of Soweto with Springs on the East Rand via Lenasia, Alberton and Brakpan. Route Its western terminus is an interchange with the M68 and the N12 Moroka Bypass, just south of Soweto (south of Protea Glen), as Abu Baker Asvat Drive. The route runs south to Lenasia and then turns east in the town centre. It intersects with the R553 and passes over the N1 adjacent to the Olifantsvlei Nature Reserve east of Lenasia. Boksburg is a city on the East Rand of Gauteng province of South Africa. Gold was discovered in Boksburg in 1887. Boksburg was named after the State Secretary of the South African Republic, Willem Eduard Bok, W. Eduard Bok.
