M.S. Sathyu
Mysore Shrinivas Sathyu (born 6 July 1930) is a film director, stage designer and art director from India. He is best known for his directorial '' Garm Hava'' (1973), which was based on the partition of India. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1975. Early and personal life Born into a Kannada family, Sathyu grew up in Mysore. He pursued his higher education at Mysore and later Bangalore. In 1952, he quit college while working on his Bachelor of Science degree. Sathyu is married to Shama Zaidi, a north Indian Shia Muslim. They have two daughters. Career He freelanced as an animator in 1952–53. Okhla, short for Old Canal Housing and Land Authority, is an urban neighbourhood located by the Okhla barrage in South East Delhi, near the border between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Sudheer Attavar is an Indian film director-lyricist and Sahitya Academy awarded author who predominantly works in South Indian films. His Kannada film Mrityorma, produced by Trivikrama Sapalya, won a special jury award in Jaipur International Film Festival. "Reunion" is a 2013 Google India advertisement for Google Search. It was directed by Amit Sharma, written by Sukesh Kumar Nayak, produced by an Indian branch of Ogilvy & Mather, and published on YouTube on 13 November 2013. "Reunion" is about the fictional reunion between two elderly men, Baldev Mehra (Vishwa Mohan Badola) from India and Yusuf ( Mysore Shrinivas Sathyu) from Pakistan, who were separated as children during the partition of India in 1947. The advertisement had a strong impact in both India and Pakistan, leading to hope for the easing of travel restrictions between the two countries. Kaifi Azmi (born Athar Husain Rizvi; 14 January 1919 – 10 May 2002) was an Indian Urdu poet. He is remembered as the one who brought Urdu literature to Indian motion pictures. Chetan Anand (3 January 1921 – 6 July 1997) was a Bollywood film producer, screenwriter and director from India, whose first film, , was awarded the Grand Prix Prize (now Golden Palm) at the first ever Cannes Film Festival in 1946.
