Lys-MDA
Lys-MDA (Lysine-MDA, N-(L-lysinamidyl)-3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine) is a substituted amphetamine derivative with empathogenic effects, which acts as a prodrug for Methylenedioxyamphetamine, MDA with a slower onset of effects and longer duration of action. Lys-MDA, along with the related derivative Lys-MDMA, are in early stage human clinical trials as potential treatments for treatment-resistant depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. New MDMA prodrugs are in the development phase at MiHKAL GmbH in Switzerland. A Phases of clinical research#Phase I, phase 1 clinical trial comparing MDMA, MDA, Lys-MDMA, and Lys-MDA has been completed as of August 2024. The substituted methylenedioxyphenethylamines (abbreviated as MDxx) represent a diverse chemical class of compounds derived from phenethylamines. This category encompasses numerous Psychoactive drug, psychoactive substances with Empathogen, entactogenic, Psychedelic drug, psychedelic, and/or stimulant properties, in addition to entheogens. These compounds find application as research chemicals, designer drugs, and recreational substances.
