Luke Eve
Luke Eve (born 1974) is an Australian screen director and producer. Originally a freelance photographer, he transitioned into directing music videos and commercials before moving into film and television. Eve was the winner of Tropfest 2005 with his film ''Australian Summer''. He was the series director of ''SEX: An Unnatural History'' and the 2012 ABC series ''Great Southern Land''. In 2014, he created, produced, and directed the ground-breaking, critically acclaimed series '' Low Life'', a black comedy about depression starring Henry Nixon and Claire van der Boom. In 2017 he directed and produced the follow-up series, High Life which was Executive Produced by Stephen Fry and stars Odessa Young with music by Sarah Blasko. Damon Gameau is an Australian actor, director, and producer, known for his documentaries '' That Sugar Film'' and ''2040''. Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival
Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival is held annually in and around the Sydney suburb of Newtown, Australia. It was established as a non-profit organization in 2006. The festival was created by Martin Kelly, Bill Jordan and Spiros Hristias while the three worked as equipment operators in the bio box of New Theatre, a live performance venue in Newtown. Meeting in local cafes, the creators developed the festival's name and logo, its aim (to support emerging filmmakers and showcase their works) and awards categories. After setting up the enterprise with their own money Kelly, Jordan and Spiros looked for outside sponsorship for the festival. Since 2006, the festival's major sponsor has been JVC Professional, donors of filmmaking equipment. The Hot Lies
The Hot Lies were an alternative rock band based in Australia. The band formed in Adelaide, in early 2004. Their line-up consisted of lead vocalist Pete Wood, rhythm guitarist Benjamin Pix, drummer Jared Brown, lead guitarist Luke Szabo (from Brock Downey) and former I Killed the Prom Queen bassist Leaton Rose. IF Award
The Inside Film Awards (now known as the IF Awards) is an annual awards ceremony and broadcast platform for the Australian film industry, developed by the creators of Inside Film Magazine, Stephen Jenner and David Barda, and originally produced for television by Australian Producer Andrew Dillon. The awards are determined by a national audience poll, which differentiates it from the Australian AACTA Awards, which are judged by industry professionals. Small Mercies
Small Mercies were an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland. They formed in 1997. They used the names, Seventh Avenue and Blaik, before adopting Small Mercies in 2004. Their final line-up was Steve Blaik on lead vocals and guitar, Marty O'Brien on drums, Danny Procopis on lead guitar, and Jeff Reeves on bass guitar. Small Mercies released two EPs, ''Is This Life?'' (2003) and ''Off the Record'' (2004), and one studio album, '' Beautiful Hum'' (May 2008).
