Small Mercies
Small Mercies were an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland. They formed in 1997. They used the names, Seventh Avenue and Blaik, before adopting Small Mercies in 2004. Their final line-up was Steve Blaik on lead vocals and guitar, Marty O'Brien on drums, Danny Procopis on lead guitar, and Jeff Reeves on bass guitar. Small Mercies released two EPs, ''Is This Life?'' (2003) and ''Off the Record'' (2004), and one studio album, '' Beautiful Hum'' (May 2008). Their highest charting release, "Innocent" (May 2007), reached the ARIA Singles Chart Top 40 and was nominated at the ARIA Music Awards of 2007 for Breakthrough Artist – Single. INXS
INXS (a phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian rock band, formed as the Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney. The founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. Freedb
Freedb was a database of User-generated content, user-submitted compact disc track listings, where all the content was under the GNU General Public License. To look up CD information over the Internet, a client program calculated a hash function from the Optical disc authoring#TOC, CD table of contents and used it as a disc ID to query the database. If the disc was in the database, the client was able to retrieve and display the artist, album title, track list and some additional information. Freedb was launched in 2001 based on the CDDB (Compact Disc DataBase) after it had been changed to a Proprietary software, proprietary license and renamed "Gracenote". the Freedb database held just under 2,000,000 CDs. John Philip Woodruff is an Australian former talent manager, record label owner and music magazine owner. He managed Flowers/Icehouse, the Angels, Diesel, Baby Animals and Savage Garden. He combined with fellow managers to found Dirty Pool as a booking agency and management company in 1978. Woodruff established a magazine '' The Music Network'' in 1994. For his work in the local music industry he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ARIA Music Awards of 2007.
