Luigi
Luigi (; ) is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Part of Nintendo's ''Mario'' franchise, he is a kind-hearted, cowardly Italian plumber, and the younger fraternal twin brother and sidekick of Mario. Like his brother, Luigi's distinctive characteristics include his large nose and mustache, overalls, green hat, and high-pitched, exaggerated Italian accent. Luigi first appeared in '' Mario Bros.'', a 1983 platform game, in which he was originally designed as a palette swap of Mario with a green color scheme; Luigi has since appeared in multiple games and other media throughout the ''Mario'' franchise, in which developed a personality and style of his own. As his role in the ''Mario'' franchise progressed, Luigi evolved into a physically distinct character, and become the main protagonist of '' Mario is Missing!'' and the '' Luigi's Mansion'' series. Charles Andre Martinet (born September 17, 1955) is an American actor. He is best known for voicing Mario in the ''Super Mario'' franchise, portraying him from 1991 to 2023. He also voiced other characters in the series such as Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and the baby equivalents of Mario and Luigi, prior to stepping down as voice actor to become an official brand ambassador for the series. Martinet is also known for his portrayal of Paarthurnax in 2011's ''The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim'', as well as Magenta in the ''Dragon Ball (franchise), Dragon Ball'' franchise since 2022. is a 1983 platform game developed and published by Nintendo for arcades. It was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Gunpei Yokoi, Nintendo's chief engineer. Jack Westelman (April 7, 1941 – November 28, 2013), professionally known as Danny Wells, was a Canadian actor.
