Luca Preda
Luca Preda (born 19 March 2006) is a Romanian professional tennis player. He has a career-high International Tennis Federation, ITF junior combined ranking of No. 5, achieved on 29 April 2024. Early life Preda was born in Constanța. His mother is a former basketball player. He began playing tennis at the age of four and trained at Tennis Club Play Constanţa. He also played basketball at Athletic Constanţa. Junior career In June 2023, Preda won his first J300 title at the ITF German Juniors in Bamberg, defeating Lasse Pörtner in the final. That December, he reached the final of the J500 Orange Bowl (tennis), Orange Bowl, but lost to Danil Panarin. In February 2024, he won his first J500 title in Cairo. He was the first Romanian player to win a J500 tournament since Ana Bogdan in 2008. The Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships, known as the Dunlop Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships from 2008 to 2013 with Dunlop as the title sponsor, and renamed the Metropolia Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships from 2013 onwards, is a prestigious junior tennis tournament, one of five that are rated by the ITF as 'Grade A'. Established in 1947 in Miami Beach, the tournament has for years featured both boys and girls singles and doubles draws at both '18 and under' (under-19) and '16 and under' (under-17) age categories. Kaylan Bigun won the boys' singles title at the 2024 French Open, defeating Tomasz Berkieta in the final, 4–6, 6–3, 6–3. ITF Junior Masters
The ITF Junior Masters is a year-end singles tournament for the top-ranked 18-and-under tennis players on the ITF Junior Circuit (ITF Junior World Ranking). It is the second most prestigious annual junior event in terms of rankings points awarded, after the four junior grand slams. Each year, eight boys and eight girls participate in separate events. The tournament is designed to emulate the ATP Finals and WTA Finals. Each event features two round-robin groups vying for spots in the knockout rounds that determine the champion. The 2024 US Open was the 144th edition of tennis' US Open (tennis), US Open and the fourth and final Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam event of the year.
